I took a handful of pills to forget the happiest day of my life;
I'm defective, because even good things get me down,
Too much feeling, I can't process what I've been doing -
for the last ten years of my life,
One morning I woke up and couldn't stop ruminating on the dark parts,
Then the demons told me I'll stay this way
Drowning in self-pity, self-deprecation, the salt got stuck in my wounds,
And the chemicals make me normal for a while.
I don't want to know what would happen if they stopped working
Would it be as bad as it once was?
I ought to be bothered but the loneliness and that these patterns are familiar ground.
I've never quite reached the part where hope was written on my cards
