Ghost man. an original poem. @wihtikowspirit
There are moments that break you—
And I don’t mean the small ones,
The petty disappointments or fleeting fears.
I mean the ones that shake you to your core,
When you feel the weight of the world pressing down,
And you wonder how much longer you can stand.
It’s in those moments,
When I can’t find the strength to speak,
That you’ve always been there—
Not with answers,
But with your presence,
With your quiet understanding
That says, “I’m not leaving. Not now, not ever.”
You’ve seen me at my worst,
And you’ve never turned away.
When I was drowning in my own mind,
You dove in with me.
When I was lost in the storm,
You were my lighthouse.
Not because you had to,
But because you love me.
In a way that’s gentle,
And fierce,
And pure.
And not just the kind of tears that fall from sadness,
But the kind that come from feeling too much—
Too much love,
Too much pain,
Too much fear of losing someone
Who makes life bearable.
I’ve never known someone like you—
The way you show up, without asking for anything in return.
How you give and give,
And yet somehow, you never run out of love.
It’s a rare thing to find someone who truly sees you,
All the parts of you that you hide from the world.
But you… you see me,
And you’ve always loved me,
Even when I couldn’t love myself.
So, here’s me, telling you,
In the only way I know how—
I’m not just grateful for you.
I’m in awe of you.
Of the way you love,
Of the way you show up,
Of the way you make life feel
Like it’s worth living.
You’re my home,
My heart,
And my best friend.
And I hope you know,
In every single moment we’ve shared,
That I will never, ever take you for granted.
I love you,
More than you’ll ever know.
And when life gets hard,
And it feels like we’re miles apart,
Just remember—you’ll always have me.
Because you’re my person.
The one I never knew I needed,
But can’t live without.
