1 of the newer #poems i read last night. "Cages de los ninos" (Cages of the children) it sounds almost peaceful like a waterfall rushing or pairs of playful feet tossing through multicolored leaves at the height of fall this sound though is not from the beauty in nature this sound is ninos restless scared turning endlessly in between emergency blankets shiny and thin resembling foil plans los padres had to live a better life foiled families torn puddles made from endless tears reflect the warehouse fluorescent lights pilgrims punished and caged caged while the world looks on i wonder if the agents hear the sound in their sleep i marvel at their ability to sleep while committing acts such as these for i hear the sound every time i hear the voices of my ninos my ninos who are just as vulnerable yet unfairly they are a measure more free ................................................................ #cages #poetryreading #igpoet #mypoem #mypoetry #currentevents #foilblanket #immigration #poetryforacause #niños #hauntingsounds #poetsandwriters #instagrampoetry #poetryisnotdead
