When you don’t want kids but you want to be Kitty Forman because she’s sweet, cool, and creates a fun, safe, comfortable space for her kids/grandkid and all of their friends
The Hub still has the same chairs 🤯
I was wondering if I could request Hyde x reader with the reader sneaking into his room in the basement in the middle of the night because she has trouble sleeping without him and Kitty catches her in there but decides to let her be because she realizes how safe her daughter feels with him?
Hell yeah!! This wasn't as good as the others and I am so, so sorry. It's late here and I'm super sleepy but I wanted this done. I'll rewrite it if you don't like it!
Caught
Thunder roared in the pitch-black sky over Point Place. The midnight summer downpour was usually enough to help Y/n relax and fall asleep, but on this particular night, her mind couldn't stop racing. Anxiety flowed through her veins with the knowledge of being a freshly graduated high school student with no paved path for her next move. Her big brother, Eric, had gone off to Africa so he could get his credentials to be a teacher, her oldest sister Laurie was...well, wherever the hell she was, but regardless, living her life. While she, Y/n Forman, stayed at home with everyone else who she all continued to hang out with.
Donna had left for Madison shortly after Eric, Kelso was in Chicago, and Fez and Jackie were in Jaimica. The only one left was Steven Hyde, who stayed behind to run his record store that he so happily ran.
She would be lying to herself if she said they hadn't gotten closer these last recent months. While they knew each other well within the group, they never got the chance to hang out alone. With everyone gone, it left them just the two of them. She came to learn just how gentle and soft he really was. He showed her a side to him that not everyone had the privilege to see. And oh, how she loved it.
Another thing that wouldn't stop running through her mind was her confusion of her feelings towards him. Was she looking at him differently now that they had grown closer? Or was their friendship simply tighter? She had always thought of him as handsome, but never looked at him that way until recently. Was she only looking at him this way because everyone had left?
But she noticed he'd been looking differently at her too. She'd catch him looking at her a bit longer than usual, his hand lingered on her shoulder or her back longer than a friendly touch, and sometimes when they would watch TV together, their thighs would touch causing her heart flutter and race.
And the worst of them all, she kept having dreams about him. Some innocent and sweet, some romantic, and others not so sweet and innocent. She found herself daydreaming of him constantly, always wondering what his lips would feel and taste like against hers. What it would feel like to be in his embrace. To be let in to his most delicate and vulnerable side.
Then she'd kick herself for feeling this way. She could never allow herself to feel for someone like Steven Hyde. And he sure as hell would never have feelings for her. Given their history, it would be taboo at its best.
A clap of thunder pulled her out of her thoughts as the lightening lit up her dark room. She felt so lonely now in that house knowing her brother wasn't next door. Or that her best friend wasn't in the house next to hers. In fact, the Pinciotti's weren't even in the same house at all. Bob moved to Florida and for now the house laid empty for the next buyer. She missed those two so much, it would make her heart clench and tears fall.
She wished she knew what she wanted to do with her life like Donna and Eric did. She was afraid that she wasn't going to be able to impress her parents like Eric did when he left. As much as Kitty cried and expressed how much she missed him, she saw the sparkle in both her parents' eyes of pride. Then she saw how that sparkle would die when spoken about Laurie. And she was terrified of that happening.
She wasn't even sure what she liked. She liked mechanics and helping her dad run his shop, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to get into that field. She liked science a lot, but wasn't sure if she could make it. English was her worst subject in school, so anything to do with that was out of the question. She didn't have the patience to be a teacher. She did like music, but knew she wouldn't get the support or approval from her parents. Animals were her other passion, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to go to school for so long or have the heart to put them down if needed.
Another clap of thunder shook the outside, startling her.
"That's it," she mumbled and threw the covers off of her. She tiptoed passed her parents' room and down the hall. She managed to make it to the kitchen without a peep...until she tripped in the dark and slammed her hand against the wall to catch her fall.
She stood still, holding her breath waiting for any movement. After a moment, she released her breath and continued on down the stairs to the basement.
When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she quietly padded her way to Hyde's room. Pushing the door open slightly, she saw his peaceful, sleeping form. He was faced away from the door on his side.
"Hyde," she whispered. When he didn't even stir, she tried again. "Hyde."
His soft snores answered her. She huffed and shuffled closer to him and tried again.
"Hydeee."
A sharp snort filled the air as he jerked his back to look at her. "Y/n? What are you doing? What time is it?"
"It's almost one...can I sleep here tonight?"
"Can you...what?" he asked, blinking away the sleepiness and turned around to face her.
"I-I know it's a weird request, but I can't sleep and I, um, feel a little lonely...but this is weird and I'm so sorry to wake you. I'll just, uh, I'll just go--"
As she turned to run out, Hyde stopped her. "Wait, no, Y/n come back here. It's fine."
She turned back to face him. "Really? I'm not bothering you?"
"You can never bother me," he responded sleepily and scooted over. He opened the blanket for her. "Come here."
She nodded and climbed into the cot with him. It was surprisingly warm.
He covered them both up and laid on his back with his arm above his head. He closed his eyes but didn't fall back asleep.
She laid there on her back, feeling awkward, wide awake, and her heart pounding hard.
"Thank you," she whispered.
He hummed. "Any time."
She rolled to her side away from him, guilt settling in. She should've stayed in her bed instead of waking him up.
"Can't sleep?"
She sighed. "Not really."
"Got a lot on your mind?"
"Something like that."
"Well, try to get some sleep. You have to get up in a few hours so you can go back to your room without Red seeing you."
She chuckled. "Yeah, we don't want that."
A few moments of silence past before she heard his deep breathing. She closed her eyes and could feel her mind slowing down when she felt an arm slither its way around her waist. He pulled her close and she swore her heart stopped beating. She cautiously rested her hand on top of his where his fingers intertwined with hers. A small smile spread across her face, feeling the comfort that she had been craving.
"What the hell is going on here?!" a familiar, shrill voice broke through the air.
The light had been switched on so fast, it gave them whiplash.
"Mom!" Y/n cried out, covering her eyes. "It's nothing!"
"Really? It doesn't look like nothing!" she responded.
"What are you doing down here anyway?"
"Don't try to change the subject, missy," Kitty said. "I heard a crash down here and I thought I'd check it out. Now, you answer my question. What's going on?"
"Nothing," Y/n responded. "I just couldn't sleep and just...didn't want to feel alone."
"Steven, is this true?" Kitty asked.
"Uh, yeah, sure," he replied, still tired, rubbing his eyes. "She came in here and said what she just said."
Kitty turned back to Y/n. "Set an alarm."
"What?" Y/n and Steven asked together.
"Set your alarm," she repeated. "You're going to want to be back in your room before your father gets up. Because if he finds out about this, I won't be able to remove his feet up your asses without medical instruments."
"Oh...thanks, Mom...?" Y/n asked confused.
"Don't thank me yet," she responded. "It's one in the morning and I'm too tired to continue this conversation. No funny business, alright?"
"Yeah, you got it," Hyde said absentmindedly and plopped himself back down.
Kitty looked at them for a moment before turning the light back off and left.
After a beat of silence, Y/n turned back to Hyde. "That was weird right?"
TV Shows: That '70s Show (1998 - 2006)
You morons just hung vacancy signs on your asses… and my foot’s looking for a room!
Welcome to Point Place, Wisconsin. Don't Date Kelso. Somewhere southwest of Milwaukee and northwest of Kenosha, and east of the farm fields of Fort Anderson, lies a typical midwestern town. Point Place, Wisconsin. Includes (but may not be limited to), as of the 1980 census (author's note: it's closer to the 1976-9 mark than 1970); A mall to the north (with Halverson's, Montogomery Ward, JCPenney, and Macy's as its anchors). With a movie theater and a food court. An expansion is planned, hoping to break ground in '81. Some restaurants, of many varieties (like The Hub, The Vineyard, and Charlie's Bar). Scattered throughout. A few hotels (like the Holiday Hotel), and too many slightly derelict motels to count. Scattered throughout. A dying downtown, right in the middle of the map. A trailer park on the western edge. Next to Our Lady of Perpetual Sorrow. Mt. Hump in the south, some forests where kids smoke weed and run amuck, a few campsites, and Lake Morgan. The latter three all being in the southwest. Lake Morgan is known as "the Lake," or "Lake Eerie." Where the lady of the lake supposedly lives. Home to WFPP, the Sound, at the northwestern edge of town. West of the mall. Some factories to the west, slightly northwest of downtown, and most being recently abandoned. Surrounded by low-income housing (some low-income housing is also located slightly to the east of downtown, right before the picturesque suburbs). A Price Mart and a Kmart. Wal-Mart coming soon. New chain stores popping up in the northwest, the north, and where old factories once stood. As well as some new housing developments. A variety of churches. Also scattered throughout. Too many strip malls, mostly to the northeast. This district also happens to include Grooves. An up-and-coming record store. Once given to Steven Hyde, but later sold to Randy Pearson. Because, and I quote;
Hyde: I gotta get out of this place, man. Before it swallows me alive.
A pot leaf painted water tower is also nestled between this large, mid-century commercial district and the main chunk of suburbia. Too many quiet suburban streets, mostly to the east. Some lifeless (but occupied) mansions in the southeast, old and new, overlooking the valley. A hospital. A junior high/high school, two elementary schools, and a community college. Various doctors' offices. A police station, a fire station, a library. Most linger to the east, with the recently finished elementary school situated to the north. Population (as of the 1980 census): 15, 150. 93% white. 5% black, 2% everyone else (Hispanic, Asian, Native American, etc.). Status of the gang (as of the 1980 census): Only Fez remains, with a freshly returned Laurie. Kelso's in Chicago with Brooke and Betsy, going back into the police force. Hyde's in Milwaukee, with a Grooves store and promising prospects, trying to get back into Jackie's good books. Jackie's left Fez and Point Place for Milwaukee, interning for Wake Up, Wisconsin and planning to enter UW: Milwaukee. Eric and Donna are in Madison. Reunited, and attending UW: Madison. Oh yeah, things are returning to how they should be. There's no Jackie and Kelso even remotely on the horizon (more like firmly in the rear-view mirror), or any more babies (other than Betsy, toddling around) in sight. No babies oddly and uncharacteristically named Leia, or a Jackie/Kelso son. *Gags* Eric: What universe is that? I would never, ever even fathom naming my future daughter Leia... Donna (teasing him): What about Leah? Eric: Stop it.
“Come on Forman, let’s go screw with some Greasers.” 😈⚾
So before I came back to Tumblr, I made this crossover art of my then-obsessions That 70s Show and Bully! I’m sharing it here because even though I’m hyperfixating on Cobra Kai, I have these two to thank for for keeping me afloat during quarantine. Also because I easily forget I’m a multifandom blog haha lol
I’m looking into finishing this with the rest of the gang in the future, but here’s Hyde and Eric for now! Follow my art account at @corny.babe if you fancy more!

Eric forman's basement
You were sitting watching TV with your legs over Hyde's that were on the table, while Fez and Eric played some card game. It was a cute little flirtatious thing you and Hyde did: pretending that the other one was taking the space on the table, shoving at each other's legs, which then always ended up with you laying your legs over his letting him "win".
After about 20 minutes Jackie walked in: "Hey y/n, ready to go dress shopping for the wedding?"
"Ugh. I think I'm just going to wear a really nice jumpsuit or something, I hate dresses." You said taking your legs off of Hydes.
"Why do you hate wearing dresses, y/n?" Fez asked.
You: "because I gained some weight and I'm not skinny like everyone else so it's not going to look good, they never do."
"What are you talking about?? You're gorgeous. You have curves, every man's weakness. I love your body."
"I know you meant that in a non creepy way, so thank you fez." You gave Fez a kiss on the cheek, making Hyde shift uncomfortably in his seat.
"See you guys later."
The rest of the gang caught up with you guys at the mall 2 hours later to buy some tuxedos and more flowers.
Hyde: "Hey where's y/n and Fez?"
Jackie: "well y/n was crying in the changing area again, so Fez was helping her calm down. I couldn't take it anymore, she was ruining the good mood for trying on clothes."
Hyde walked into the changing area and saw fez holding your hands, you spoke up: "Thanks fezzie, you really know how to make me feel better." you hugged him and it seemed more intimate than usual, so Hyde took off. Generally you would always flirt or cuddle with Fez when he did it first but something about it lately just doesn't sit well with Hyde.
In the circle
"Jealous? Nah man. don't be ridiculous forman. I just think Fez might like her now, he's starting to make the real moves."
"Maybe because you took so long to make a move dude. She deserves someone who can finally make a move. Oo or bust a move, which Fez can also do. I vote for Fez." Donna says getting super excited.
"I wanna say Burn but I just don't wanna rub it in more man you seem pretty upset. Just kidding! DOUBLE BURN!"
"Whatever you guys, it's no big deal okay.….. so I found out there's this car that runs on water man-"
Eric, Donna, Kelso: "shut up with that story."
Eric's living room
8:00pm
You walked into the living room only to see Hyde watching TV alone. "Hey Hyde, whats up?"
"Nothing much man. What's up with you?"
"Just got back from meeting a friend at the hub."
"Surprised Fez wasn't with you." He whispered.
"What ??"
"Oh nothing I'm just tired I'm gonna head to bed."
"Really at this hour?"
"Yeah all that shopping wore me out."
"Oh… okay good night then."
"Night."
You turned to the TV but you couldn't really focus since you knew Hyde was acting different. Was he mad at you? So you went over to Donna's. "Plus nothing good is on" You said to yourself.
~~
"I just don't know why he's being like this, I mean who sleeps at 8:00pm??"
She just made a weird face and shrugged.
"Why did you make that face? Oh my god you know something! Tell meee."
"no I don't!"
"Donna! This is serious."
"fine okay look, Eric told me that Hyde is jealous because of how you and Fez have been lately and it makes sense to me."
"Hyde doesn't get jealous. Plus Fez and I haven't done anything, it was just a kiss on the cheek earlier pretty normal stuff."
"Yeah but it was also in the changing area. You two were holding hands and Hyde saw."
"but it was just because I was -"
"Crying yeah and you didn't go to Hyde like you normally do."
"Oh… wow you're right. I didn't think he would care though. Hyde doesn't know what to do when a girl is crying."
"Maybe but just go and talk to him about it, make him feel special again, so he can act like normal." You both giggled but you quickly stopped.
"I can't."
"Why not??" You raised your eyebrows, making a face in a 'do you even need to ask?' kind of way.
Gasping she says: "Because you like him. I knew it!!!"
"Of course I do Donna, have you seen him? I can't talk to him about why I was crying. That'll make me look stupid and weak."
"I don't think Hyde will see you in those ways. He's always made you feel better when you were down. It'll be fine."
"Thanks Donna, you're the best. I'll talk to him tomorrow! So how's Eric doing with the whole no more sex thing??"
"Well you know he still tries all the time to make me say yes."
"Like he said before everything gets him horny. He'll be fine." You both laughed.
~~~
NEXT AFTERNOON
12:00 pm, Eric's kitchen
Hyde was putting his plate in the sink, Kelso was at the fridge, and you and Fez were sitting at the table; Eric & Donna just left the room with Jackie, to talk about more wedding stuff.
You: "hey fez I was wondering if you wanted to go see a movie tonight?"
"Really with you? Yes of course."
"Great!" You watched hyde the whole time.
"Hyde do you wanna come along tonight?"
"No i'm, um working."
"We can wait till tomorrow."
"I work late then too." You narrowed your eyes as he speaks kinda coldly. After that Hyde left the room, so you followed him out.
"What's wrong jealous?''
''Are you kidding me jealous? Ha no way."
"Well then why the cold shoulder?"
"I've just been busy."
"Mm busy, yeah busy giving me the cold shoulder!"
"Well I don't exactly see you spending time with me either. Lately all it's been is fez and you."
"Yeah I guess I didnt notice that till Donna said something, I'm sorry Steven, that'll change I promise."
"Its cool. Now I get to do this." He leaned in and kissed you. No tongue just a genuine kiss, that lasted about 10 seconds before you guys pulled apart.
"Wowwww that was -." You started.
"Amazing yeah."
"How about we go and see that movie tonight?" You bit your lip.
"Cant I do work late tonight, but tomorrow I'm free."
"So you were jealous huh??" You asked a little too happy.
He smiled playfully, "I dont do jealous."
"No of course not Steven." You smiled back, while he put his arm around your waist, walking you towards his room so you could talk while he got ready for work.
