Submitter's comment:
This is, hands down, one of my absolute favorite fics I've ever read in any fandom. And I've been reading fic. since I was 8 or 9. I have made a tradition of rereading it every fall. Do you like pirates? Do you like historical fiction? Do you like romance? Do you like fics that mimic styles of historical writing? Do you love pen and ink drawings? You will fucking love this fic. Its a regency/golden age of sail adventure/romance and it had me absolutely on the edge of my seat the first time i read it. If I remember correctly I skipped class to finish it. I did not know much at all about Green Lantern lore the first time I read it so every time I reread it I appreciate it more to see how Green Lantern concepts were adapted into a golden age of sail universe. Also, did I mention it's beautifully illustrated in a pen and ink style that reminds me of the plate prints from when I read Horatio Hornblower? If you ship Connor Hawke/Kyle Rayner or like 90s Green Lantern or like historical AUs its a must read. You really dont need to be overly familiar with the characters, though that makes it 100x better. I don't want to give spoilers because I want everyone to get to be surprised by the twists and turns as I was, so I'll end with this- I look forward to the weather turning again so I remind myself "oh! it's time to reread O'er the Dark Green Sea!"
