is it fine to have your pokemon sing songs as their contest performance? like with actual lyrics? i wanna let my chatot do his performance of copacabana for a bigger audience then usual

so long as nothing in the contest hall's rules prevent that, it's definitely something you can have your chatot do! i'd just keep a couple things in mind. the first is that contests generally have multiple rounds that assess various qualities ranging from your pokemon's appearance to its skill. different types of contests focus on different qualities, so you want to make sure you're signing up for the right kind of show. the copacabana would probably go over well in a cuteness contest, but not so much in the toughness arena.

keep in mind too that in the performance section of a contest, people are generally expecting to see a lot of different moves rather than a particular talent the pokemon has. these shows are flashy, and the audience and judges are looking for the way your pokemon chains moves together and plays off of what the other pokemon are doing. as impressive as singing a song is for a pokemon, it might not be the right kind of act for a contest. i'd recommend looking into breeder club shows or pokemon talent shows, where the focus is more on a particular skill!

So some people are speculating that contests might make a return... My prediction is that if they do, it will most likely be a one time thing like many of the other games they are going to promote during this arc. I saw some fans panicking because they think Liko is the next May/Dawn/Serena, but I don't think that will be the case. I think the kids will be trying a couple of different things in this new part of their adventure, but it won't necessarily become they're goal in life. Ngl, this picture made me feel ecstatic to see contests again! The attack combination and Liko's outfit looks pretty too.
