THEO BLEAK SHARES NEW EP AVAILABLE VIA POLYMOON

Today, Scottish indie artist Theo Bleak shares her new EP, Bad Luck Is Two Yellow Flowers, available everywhere now via Polymoon. Co-written with close collaborators Mark Johnston, Megan McNally, and Dan Gautreau, the EP captures Theo Bleak’s signature blend of haunting melodies, poetic lyricism, layered instrumentals and emotive vocal delivery, displaying a push and pull between intellect and raw feeling.

“The EP is my imaginings of my friend's inner life,” Theo Bleak explains. “Each song represents a different facet of our blurry friendship. The title imagery is tied to ideas of superstition, astrology, and the feeling of deep, unwavering longing.”

Following the success of last year’s introspective single “You Said I’d Feel It All Again,” “Said Like A Poet”, and “Peach Sky,” marked another chapter in Theo Bleak’s exploration of raw emotion and dreamlike soundscapes. “Said Like A Poet” serves as a perfect sign-off to the upcoming EP, a project built on themes of longing, superstition, and blurred friendship. “Peach Sky” captures the fleeting beauty of a single moment, blending wistful lyricism with the artist’s signature “goth waltz” guitar melodies and lush, layered vocals. The track delves into themes of change, longing, and the search for meaning.

“You Said I’d Feel It All Again” garnered widespread support internationally. The single was played on BBC Radio 1’s Future Artists, BBC Radio 2’s Unwinds and was also recognized by multiple Spotify editorial playlists such as New Music Friday in the USA, UK, Belgium, Sweden & Netherlands as well as Fresh Folk, All New Pop, and Next Gen Singer-Songwriters. Earlier this month, rising star Rachel Chinouriri played the track on her takeover of BBC Introducing on Radio 1. Bad Luck Is Two Yellow Flowers looks to have the same impact, adding to the young artist's impressive repertoire. 

Earlier this year, Theo Bleak made her North American debut at New York’s New Colossus Festival. This summer, she will head to various festivals across the United Kingdom, starting tomorrow night at Brighton’s famed The Great Escape Festival. For more information on upcoming performances, see below.

Graveyard e Kadavar em digressão conjunta passaram por Nijmegen | Reportagem Fotográfica

Entre 19 de abril e 6 de maio os Graveyard & Kadavar aliaram-se para uma digressão, sobretudo pela europa central, com 13 datas no total. Já passaram pela Alemanha, Áustria, Países Baixos e França. Terminam nesta primeira semana de maio com concertos na Bélgica, Inglaterra e Luxemburgo.

Na passada noite de sexta-feira 28 de abril tiveram ainda a companhia dos finlandeses Polymoon em Nijmegen nos Países Baixos.

A sala de espetáculos holandesa Doornroosje teve casa cheia e o ambiente esteve ao mais alto nível. Um dos locais mais conhecidos na europa central e por onde passam nomes incríveis do universo musical. Tem uma capacidade máxima de 1500 pessoas, além de plateia tem igualmente uma área elevada de balcão.

O evento terminou ainda antes das 23h, algo incrível e que seria difícil acontecer em Portugal, algo mesmo incomum para o standard lusitano. De relembrar que tocaram 3 bandas na mesma noite.

A primeira banda a pisar o palco principal da Doornroosje foram os Polymoon. Eles são provenientes de Tampere na Finlândia e levaram na sua bagagem o seu último trabalho discográfico ‘Chrysalis’ editado a 17 de fevereiro deste ano. Eles que descrevem o som que produzem como sendo “entre rock espacial cósmico e progressiva psicadélica”.

Já o trio Kadavar, oriundos de Berlim na Alemanha, subiram ao palco de seguida. Eles que têm dado que falar na cena stoner mundial.

Já passaram por Portugal diversas vezes, nos últimos 10 anos, com passagens pelo SonicBlast Moledo em 2018 pelo Hard Club no Porto (cortesia da AmplificaSom) em 2014 ou mais recentemente pelo Woodrock Festival no ano passado.

O baterista dos Kadavar em ação[mais fotos clicar aqui] O rock psicadélico e stoner dos Kadavar vai regressar a terras lusas na próxima edição SonicBlast Fest que vai-se realizar entre os dias 10 e 12 de agosto na praia da Duna dos Caldeirões em Âncora.

Já os Graveyard foram os últimos a tocar. Naturais da Suécia, o seu som hard rock já chegou um pouco por todo o mundo, com especial incidência na europa. Eles que se formaram em 2006 e que anunciaram o seu fim em 2016. Em 2017 regressaram ao ativo sem o baterista Axel Sjöberg tendo recrutado Oskar Bergenheim para o seu lugar e que ainda hoje se mantém na formação. Joakim Nilsson (vocalista e guitarrista), Jonatan Ramm (guitarrista) e Truls Mörck (guitarrista) são os outros elementos da banda.

Ambiente visto do nível superior em Graveyard [mais fotos clicar aqui] A banda de hard rock Graveyard tem muitos seguidores em Portugal e sinal disso é já o longo historial de passagens pelo nosso país como, por exemplo, em Viana do Castelo em 2016 (ver reportagem aqui) ou por Barcelos no Milhões de Festa em 2017 (ver reportagem aqui).

O retorno dos Graveyard está garantido, vão tocar na capital na sala Lisboa ao Vivo – LAV no próximo dia 28 de maio, um evento organizado pela Amazing Events. Um concerto que aconselhamos vivamente.
