finally finished this thing i showed off a few months(?) ago!

little tidbits about these guys below the cute

'Striders' is the name i call these guys for simplicity, they call themselves something like 'The few admidst many'. Where exactly this term comes from they do not know. It's probably referring to the harsh competition amongst each other.

Striders are part of a group of insectoid hunters/ scavengers. They lean more into the scavenger type, with a set of dexterous comb-like arms to sift meatscraps off of exosekeleton and a pair of strong mandibles to hold up larger pieces of a carcass.

Striders are enduring walkers, although they do not do well with speed and sudden turning, their are more prone to tripping over. (they will cry if you push them)

when reaching adolescence, the base of a Striders eyestalk will form a cartiligious ring around the muscle, strengthening their usually upright position but making them unable to retract back into their socket.

the bushels of hair adorning the Striders' neck hold oil glands that moisturize their sensitive skin and shell. Applying this oil can't be done alone and is a part of social bonding activities.

me again hi because i can’t stop yapping so APPARENTLY many folks believe that was a different firefly who got infected and they were just like man have some drugs we’re gonna experiment and that’s why they have a brain-meltingly high fever and also get like absolutely obliterated there at the end with the benzo fentanyl ketamine combo. but also….canon can’t control us 😌😌😌 my initial thought was oh maybe it’s ellie’s OLD medical records from her FEDRA days but the fever is crazy high and why would they keep her alive with all those medications if she’s that sick. but then i got to thinking and like…could she get really high fevers as a result of her immunity? would that kill the normal parts of her? if infected get high fevers when they’re turning is there a chance that something malfunctions along the way and bam ellie’s fevers are freakishly high and somehow she lives? idk man i’m not a doctor!

Honestly I feel bad for not making that much content of her... but I find I’m more inspired by the others but I will try and draw more of her
