Every part of Vegas feels like it's pulled out of fiction and is Incredibly off-putting. It's a major city in the middle of one of the world's most inhospitable deserts

Its famous for recreating other world landmarks on a small scale. It uses this as a trap to bait people into making life ruining decisions. It's motto is essentially "never speak of what happened here". Fucked up

Yknow the lil fanfic trope where a character, usually non-human, purrs like a cat. In this case it would obviously be Rocky but what if it was Grace instead hear me out-

as someone whos also autistic af and an author, this is my to-go method to motivate myself to write again for the fandom:

allow fandom to rest for like, a week. maybe two. dont check out ANYTHING, youre dont watch anything related to it. absolutely nothing. let the brain rest (n forget)

Activate the sleeper agent cell. You can do this by two different methods: what you've already seen or something new. If your brain seems reticent to rewatching, you gotta go and find something new. Go down an animatic rabbit hole, read some new fics you hadn't seen before, watch some theories or analysis about the series/fandom

Allow urself to get into it, get excited, daydream about it (and about ur fics, daydream about alternate routes, new endings, different scenes and slowly guide ur brain into thinking about how to continue), think about the character until you feel like exploding. When you feel ready, grab something nice (soda, an energetic drink, sour candy, gum, etc whatevers ur poison) sit down and open the wip. If you went down the animatic rabbit hole, have a playlist with all the music used and put it in the background while u write, because whenever your brain stops and starts thinking about the music, it will get reminded of the animatics and get motivated

It's not an infallible method, for sure, sometimes ur brain needs a little more time to fully reset, but in my experience, one never truly "leaves" or "abandons" a hyperfixation. It only goes dormant and then gets abruptly activated like a sleeper agent. Other things that can help is keeping an open doc while you write ur wip where you can jot down all ideas or thoughts about the new hyperfixation/obsession, that way they dont crowd ur mind [thumbs up emoji]

imagine that carl and grace publish their paper on how to breed astrophages, of course grace put carl's name as first, of course they had a quick party to celebrate, and bc of this, of course there are pics of grace and carl being stupid together. now imagine carl looking back on these pictures, reminising on what was, how much stupid fun they had together, and how innocent they both had been. now imagine carl sitting alone in his room looking at these pictures after he just dragged a crying and screaming grace off the field and sent him on a suicide mission. omg i love this movie/book it makes me sick
