Dimitri is completely out of touch with modern slang.

Like it went from having to ask Clive on the daily “what is a (insert meme here)?”

To when he gets yoinked from prison having to ask Descole “What is a (insert meme here)?”

But when he finally gets a basic understanding...

You cannot shut him up.

“Yeet!” Dimitri yells, as he throws a wadded up paper at the garbage.

༓ʚ Cruel Reminder ɞ༓

Summary: Life has a cruel way of reminding Dimitri of his place; a man of misfortune.

The rain hammered down on Dimitri, so sharp, so cold, so fast that it felt like needles. Stabbing him every second and minute. His skin felt numb from the pain and cold. But the pain and cold from the rain was nothing compared to you dying in his arms. Dimitri tried to use his body as a shield to protect you from the rain like how you protected him. 

The difference, however, was that you succeeded and he failed. You protected him from an enemy when he got too focused on battle. He can barely keep you warm and dry from the rain as you bleed out. Is this a cruel way of telling Dimitri not to stay happy. 

Blood escaping from underneath, mixing with the rain. Dimitri was yelling at others to get help, yet never looked away from you. Although not really in a sense. His eyes are glued to you, however, Dimitri isn’t focused on you. It’s as if he was just a husk staring down at the other man in his arm while Dimitri’s mind and soul were in another world. A failed attempt to ignore what’s in front of him.  

His cape was soaking up all the rain and adding unimaginable weight to it. If Dimitri was any other man, they would’ve fallen from it. But, alas no, Dimitri isn’t most men. Dimitri is a monster who is meant to survive while everyone else dies. The water that didn’t cover him was pouring all over you. Raindrops falling on your face. Everything felt horribly cold and it was impossible to stop shivering.  

“Dimitri, look at me,” you cooed out, lips turning purple and skin losing color by seconds. “Love, go to shelter. Stay out of the rain.” He nodded in return, wordlessly moving and picking you up. The loud sound of pain, the cape’s weight, and the blood making it difficult to lift you. Dimitri stops before laying you down and using his body as a shield once more. 

“Without me, Dimitri.” A storm of emotions flash through his eye. Shock. Horror. Betrayal. Regret. “No, no, no.” Dimitri chanted endlessly, using one hand as head support for you while the other hand softly touched you. Scared to touch you normally in fear that you’ll shatter. 

“We both know I’m not going to make it.” Your voice was frail, making it difficult to hear over the rain. Voice fading in and out. “Dimitri,” You choked, blood spilling out the corner of your mouth. You tried to reach out and touch him, but the lack of blood was making you weak and losing consciousness. Dimitri watched you go to touch him, but miss not only once yet twice. 

He stared down at the other man- the love of his life- dying in his arms. Dimitri took hold of your hand and placed it on the side of his face. He was watching you struggle, knowing that death is coming soon. Both knew it. “No matter what you think or told. I would protect you again and again,” it’s hard to tell if Dimitri’s face is wet from the rain or the tears mixing with it. “you’re not a monster, and I love you.” Before he could return words of love, you were gone. All that’s left of the man Dimitri loved was a corpse.

Do you think Dimitri ever accidentally overheard or walked in on his Dad and Rodrigue doing the nasty? Could you image how traumatized that poor boy would be?

Y’know I never really thought about it. I feel like they would be discreet enough to not have sex anywhere any of the children could see it. Though I suppose Dimitri’s life is one horrible tragicomedy so he probably would be the soul unfortunate enough to walk in on his parent(s) fucking.

Though I think they’d try to hide it from him. Y’know this joke? That’s basically Dimitri in this situation.
