Really love how Pinky and the Brain’s relationship is portrayed in That Smarts (okay and there’s a lot of sad Pinky faces that I totally didn’t take screenshots of but that’s besides the point). 

So the premise is that Brain thinks the root of their failures lies in Pinky’s idiocy, and he uses a machine to make Pinky smart. Unfortunately, it backfires when Pinky can’t stop pointing out the flaws in Brain’s plans and causes a massive argument between the two. Look at this cutie when he thinks Brain doesn’t like him anymore. You just wanna give him a hug. 

I just love how despite all the accusations they toss at each other for who’s actually the cause for failure, neither Pinky or Brain want to abandon the other in favor of working alone or finding someone else. 

And at one point Brain cries out in horror that Pinky is smarter than him, so you’d expect Brain to grab Pinky and reverse the machine’s effects, right? 

Wrong. 

Brain decides to use the machine to make himself an idiot. So Brain normally hates it when other living beings are smarter than him, but he’s willing to leave Pinky’s new intelligence intact and make himself an idiot instead? 

As Cosmo would say:

Pinky: Would you guys be there for me if I was going through something?

Brain: Nope, absolutely not.

Yakko: I hope it sucks, whatever you're going through.

Wakko: I hope it emotionally scars you for the rest of your life.

Squit: I hope you reach out to me so I can ignore you.

Buttons: I can't wait to go to your funeral, knowing I could've changed that outcome.

Pinky: 🙃 Aight, that's all I need to know. Thanks. *walks off and then sheds a tear*
