What people think Regina Kaufner means when she says she loves her children unconditionally: she is a mournfully brave matriarch who provides support to two genuinely cosmically unwell individuals despite the pain of being widowed twice. How noble. What a saint.

What she actually means: her son hates opera and idolizes absolute pricks like John Cage. She's had to learn how to get oil paints off of nearly every surface and material because her daughter chose painting instead of therapy. The Ghibli movies they watched together? Very sweet and fun. If Regina has to watch Akira one more goddamned time she's going to lose her shit.

Tenzin will finish a painting and ask her if it has the "appropriate resonance" and Regina has no idea what the fuck that means. She'll see Tenzin ask Scott about the resonance and he'll say something like the resonance seems like it would vary depending on the internal context of the viewer, and Regina will feel a sudden flash of anger so strong that she'll have to go upstairs and lie down.

When Scott was first really getting into voice training he heard Regina brag to a colleague how he was getting to be a perfect countertenor, and he threw a fit because he'd apparently been telling people he was a tenore contraltino.

And first of all - that's clearly wrong. You're 11 years old and it's fine but that's categorically inaccurate. But you can't argue with an 11 year old about vocal range terminology that most of the population has never heard before, or else suddenly you're the asshole. So you just have to sit there and go "Oh yeah? Huh! I didn't know that! That's really neat. Who told you that, by the way?"

Regina Mills has the worst romantic love life.

The notion that happy endings aren’t always what we think they’ll be is a nice twist, because not every story is about romance. But good grief, isn’t this a bit much? For someone who loves so deeply, and feels things with her entire soul (with or without her heart intact) it’s a damn shame to think that Regina might never find a lasting romantic love. I hate that she has to live with such an ultimate fear for romantic commitment; a fear that all her lovers (healthy or otherwise) must eventually die or leave her forever.

It’s no wonder she’s never tried to kiss Emma....

And I think I was right about the timeline. Several years passed before Drizella was in a position to cast the Dark Curse. She would have needed to get all the ingredients, figure out how to make it hero proof, find a heart... So, roughly 18 years did pass for everyone. That explains grown up Robin. RumBelle's timeline diverged when they went to the Edge of Realms, and Rumple travelled back in time, or space, maybe, to be there for this new curse.

And I think that darkness chasing Henry at the end of s6 is whatever happened as a result of the curse being broken...

And if the curse is hero proof, is it also Darkness proof, or Dark One proof? Regina, it might be time to see about reconnecting with your old teacher...
