Southbound Amtrak Texas Eagle Train #21 at Poplar Bluff, MO by Zach Pumphery Via Flickr: The Texas Eagle, running with 2 engines tonight, stops at PBF. They got into here ahead of time tonight. 4 minutes actually. Far cry from being 7-20 hours late just a few years ago.

Midcentury Autels Autel is a conjunction of the words auto and hotel, much like how motel is a conjunction of the words motor and hotel. 

The Northwold Autel in Poplar Bluff, Missouri has been demolished and replaced by a bank.

The All-American Autel in Salt Lake City, Utah has been demolished.

The Siesta Autel in Baltimore, Maryland is still operating and looks fairly similar but now goes by the name Siesta Motel.

The Rainbow Autel in Chilhowie, Virginia has been demolished but the sign still exists and was moved down the road to a storage facility, where it is still displayed.

I found a dog wandering around outside and I couldn’t just leave him out there so he’s chilling in my backyard until Monday. He’s very good, I hope we find his owners before then, he’s been well taken care of until now
