These Porter Braised Beef Short Ribs Sandwiches are a flavorful and hearty treat. The beef is slow-braised in porter beer until it's tender and succulent, then topped with a creamy and spicy Jalapeno Beer Cheese Sauce. It's a sandwich that's sure to satisfy your cravings!
Ingredients: 4 beef short ribs bone-in. 2 cups porter beer. 1 onion, chopped. 3 cloves garlic, minced. 2 cups beef broth. 1 tablespoon olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 hamburger buns. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. 1/4 cup cream cheese. 1/4 cup jalapeno peppers, diced. 1/2 cup beer for the cheese sauce. 1/4 cup butter. 1/4 cup all-purpose flour.
Instructions: Add salt and pepper to the beef short ribs. Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-high heat. The short ribs should be seared until they are brown all over. Cut up the onion and garlic and add them to the pan. Add the onion and cook for a few minutes, until it turns clear. Add the beef broth and porter beer. Once it starts to boil, lower the heat, cover, and let it cook for two to three hours, or until the beef is soft and falls off the bone easily. Make the Jalapeno Beer Cheese Sauce while the beef is braising. Melt the butter over medium heat in a different saucepan. Make a roux by adding the flour and stirring it in. Add the 1/2 cup of beer slowly while whisking, and cook until the mixture gets thick. Turn the heat down to low and add the jalapeno peppers, cream cheese, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix the sauce and cheese together until it's smooth. Stay warm. When the beef short ribs are done, take them out of the liquid that was used to braise them and use two forks to shred the meat. Toast the hamburger buns before putting the sandwiches together. Spread a lot of shredded beef on the bottom bun, and then pour the Jalapeno Beer Cheese Sauce on top of the beef. Put the other half of the bun on top and serve hot.
