The Care Bears are infamously known for their bubbly happy-go-lucky nature. Recently I've stumbled upon a few eyebrow raising accusations that seem a little TOO coincidental to not spotlight. Please be advised as with most fan-fiction theories these have yet to be confirmed true by any credible sources.
Some claim that the Care Bears are actually a cult of mind rapist that impose their aggressive happiness agenda onto the premature personalities of the adolescence of earth. While this may come off a bit comical, in all reality I'm not surprised that some perceive this as deliberate brainwashing. These children who are unconsciously in the midst of molding personas in which they'll hold on to for the duration of their life; are being force fed an illusion of happiness 24/7. This suppresses the child's ability to process detrimental emotions such sadness and anxiousness. In term the child is rid of his/her ability to regulate their emotions yet alone understand the importance of their divine dual nature.
There are also speculations that in fact the faces of the Care-a-lot universe are each symbolic of Haitian/African Voudoo gods/goddesses via the emblems on their tummies. These gods/goddesses are renowned-ly known as the Lwa (loa) of "Carefour" (paradoxically enough lol). Carefour is an area in Port-au-Prince that is known to be the voudoo capitol of Haiti.
Legend has it that each bear's belly brand (wtf totally made that up lol) is directly related to the symbols of each Lwa deity displayed below:
The "Love-a-lot" bear & Erzulie:
Erzulie is the Voudou Lwa of Passion, Pleasure and Prosperity. Erzulie is often represented by hearts which happen to be Love-a-lot's logo as well.
The "Friend" bear and Legba:
Legba is the Lwa most often called upon as a messenger deity. He's often referred to as "friend" because people don't speak his name aloud. Legba is often represented as two flowers similar to Friend bear's symbol.
The "Cheer" bear and the Damballah
The Damballah is symbolized by the rainbow and the same is to be said for Cheer bear who also is often shown using mystical powers.
The falling star is sought to be in direct relation to the thunder that Shango is often depicted with being that he is the Lwa god of thunder and rain.
Even freakier, almost all of the original creators of this show died in some sort of freak accident. It's also rumored that the animator for CB's Lester Meyers disappeared after purchasing a ticket to Haiti to discover the truth of the origin of CB's. If this theory were to be proven true (it's true!) it would validate the fact that people who dabble in dark magic don't have the happiest of endings.. ever.
There are also a few more connections that this theory touches base on but I'd rather not scare my audience away lmao. If further interested in this theory feel free to follow the source link below.
