I know we already shared this song when it first came out three months ago, but we’re in love with the fresh video that Alex Winston just released for Tourist, plus I’m always game to frequent a dose of her spunk, sassy, yet saccharine pop! Tourist is the Detroit indie pop artist’s first solo release in a very long time, one which we waited for with much giddy excitement after falling for her music back in 2012 when she released debut album King Con. Though we’re also devout fans of her music with MS MR’s Max Hershenow as Post Precious, we’re glad she’s back on the solo route with Tourist. The new video for the song is a nostalgic homage to the star-studded 1999 pageant mockumentary film Drop Dead Gorgeous. Alex’s video is star-studded as well. It features a cameo from Max Hershenow, as well as OctaHate breakout Ryn Weaver. Wiinston dances through the streets in the iconic tribute as she belts out her stand-out anthem with her spectacular voice. 2019 will see her releasing more new music as she heads out on the road. All this news is music to our ears, and now we can’t wait for 2018 to end in star-spangled fashion thanks to Alex Winston’s marvelous new video. Snag Tourist, here.

Damn Alex Winston is a very busy woman with her being apart of the duo Post Precious and now releasing a brand new solo track called Tourist. After a few listens I think it’s safe to say this has replaced Dead End as my new favourite Alex Winston track because it has this old fashioned Blues and Jazz style to it that works so well with Alex’s vocal that is filled to the brim with emotion and huge amounts of sass. The lyrics are some of Alex’s best with the analogy of an ex lover being a tourist being pure genius and lyrics such as, “Gave my body like a monument,” and “I don’t want to be your home,” adding more to that analogy. One of Alex’s best ever tracks and I cannot wait to hear more from her in whatever project she does.
