is there a word for where you get crushes on people, but after some time(usually about a month) the crush just. fades into nothing? id say akoiromantic but it also happens with unrequited crushes, so idk what it might be. if you have any ideas thatd be really helpful, thanks!
Sorry, I don’t think I’ve heard a specific word for that (but if anyone has, please reply to this post!). With a bit of research, I’ve found the term “Post rubor” - which, according to Aven, is “someone who quickly gets crushes/squishes/etc on others, but after the initial excitement of said crush/etc vanishes so do their feelings”, so that might fit (though I’ve honestly never heard the term before, so it’s probably not very well-known even in the aro community).
If you want to go with a more well-known one or “post rubor” doesn’t quite fit/you don’t like it, you could simply call yourself greyromantic (since the definition includes everyone standing between aromantic and romantic - whether you get crushes rarely, don’t get strong/traditional “crushes” at all/they fade quickly/etc) or aro-spec. Hope that helps :)
(Also, a quick PS for anyone else who has sent an ask/wants to send an ask - I can’t access tumblr very well from the country I’m living in this year. So I’ll definitely answer your asks - but it might take some time, probably a few weeks at the most.)
Post Rubor
Post rubor means after blush in Latin. Someone who is a post-rubor aromantic can quickly get crushes on others and have romantic feelings for someone but once the excitement of a new romance/flirtation is gone, the romantic feelings disappear and they feel like any other aromantic person: not developing romantic love. The romantic feelings can last as little as a couple days or as much as a month. Many of these feelings are based on the feelings of others. For example if you are an empath, you can often feel when someone has romantic feelings for you, but begin to block them out quickly, hence the fast dissipation of your own romantic feelings.
