#WorkoutWednesday My First Powerlifting Meet: Gold Medal in Raw Female Masters (Age 40+)... Squat: 60/132.3 Bench: 45/99.2 Deadlift: 94.5/203.5 Totals: 199.5 kilograms/435 pounds I badly strained my TFL (Tensor Fasciae Latae) and mildly pulled Piriformis last Thursday likely from all the sudden, intense two-a-days of spin to cut weight for this weekend's powerlifting competition. The bathroom scale at my Bellevue gym measured me at 5 pounds less that accurate. I avoid extreme measures most of the time but I did what I knew to do seven days out. Lesson learned about easing into protocols I haven't done in a few months. I likely made my TFL injury worse by competing on Saturday, but worth the Gold Medal.🏋🏾 Getting ART (active release therapy) from Dr. Bart my Doctor of Chiropractic and we worked to release TFL and Piriformis Monday. There was a lot going on in there to forward my healing, the treatment wasn't fun, and I learned to use a cane for the first time in my life. I was is massive agony and every tiny lower body movement made me cry. #PoweredByNaturePerfectedByScience Extra Xtra, RegeniCARE shaken, RegeniFREE taken, and the "rest, relax, ice, and gently roll out the knots" protocols were prescribed by my DC. So happy when I turned a corner yesterday afternoon. Today, I drove and walked; yes "walked" with little discomfort into our Univera World Headquarters. I shared this testimonial with my favorite community, my Univera Wednesday Headquarters Open House crew and of course, Kyle, best HQ CSR ever and fitness freak. And, of course we took a pic! #gritgetsgains #squat #benchpress #deadlift #doitscared #conqueryourfears #teamphoinix #powerlifting #usapl #drugtested #strong #girlswithgrit #iliftheavystuff #muscle #muscles #muscleismagic #fit #fitfam #fitspro #fitness #gym #gymlife #usaplwastate
