"I'm Ready" - Adora

Something has been bothering me.

What did Adora mean when she caressed Catra's face and told her "I'm ready"?

Only moments before when with Glimmer and Bow, Adora appeared distraught and even stated she was confused, scared, and distracted. What changed?

My initial thought is that Adora wanted closure with Catra. The chance to see her one last time and end things on her own terms, especially since she begged Catra to leave her side (for the first time and for her safety).

Or maybe it is because all Adora wanted was for Catra to love her. A gift she didn't think she could ever have, either because Catra didn't love her and/or her duty would not accommodate such freedom to love.

Adora was distracted, confused, and scared because she didn't want Catra to hate or dislike her. She needed closure to be at peace with dying for her friend (love), because she believed she would not get what she truly wanted, so the next best thing was a final goodbye to the one she loved most.

My hero academia chapter 254. All aboard the feels train. Because this chapter will make you sad but it’ll make you cry if you’ve read the Vigilante spin off series (which is 100% canon) like i have been for the past couple months and boy...did my eyes produce waterworks. Too early to cry but the right time as well. This chapter is basically Aizawa and Present Mic trying to find a way to make Kurogiri talk not only to get info but if he is their deceased friend, to trigger old memories to get him out as well. Funny how Aizawa basically tells Gran Torino “this isn’t some shonen movie” basically Horikoshi’s clever way calling out the power of friendship trope (looking at you Mashima even though I love your work in Fairy Tail and Eden Zero lol). But what got me the most was seeing Aizawa cry. You know it’s serious when you see the badass and toughest man cry. To quote the cop from cloudy with a chance of meatballs “this is enough to make a grown man cry...and that’s okay.” Beautiful chapter. Here’s to hoping they find a way to save an old friend and looking forward to 255. I give this chapter a solid Plus Ultra Feels out of 10.
