☀️ What do you use your abilities for most of the time?

"I use 'em for work nearly exclusively, I don't really have a reason to go tracking down dead bodies for kicks. That being said, I can never stop smelling the death and rot, so I'm always using them on some level."

🧘 Do you spend much time practicing your abilities?

"Not sure I can really practice them intentionally-- The only way I get better with identifying and picking out specific death scents is by encountering them over and over, but I'm not keen to try finding more dead people than I have to."

🧑‍🤝‍🧑Have you ever met someone else with the same abilities?

"Achlys mentioned a form of death scent in his journals, though I don't think his version was as specific as mine is. He couldn't really determine the cause of death, only the age of the decay, which I can also do."

"Kali got an even weaker version of the scent tracking and the other power they have is completely new to the bloodline, as far as I'm aware. Other than that, though, I can't say that I have, actually."

🧪 Do you experiment with or push the limits of your abilities much?

"I do not experiment or push my powers. That is all that was done in my time in the church. I do not care what they can be capable of if pushed further."

📏 When was a time your abilities got you in trouble?

"...Most often when I would refuse to use them. The powers are the cause of trouble I would not have if they were not mine."

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Have you ever met someone else with the same abilities?

"Emotional abilities are common among my caste, and I have seen similar in others as well. They are nothing special. It was by chance I was the only with them in my former... environment."

✨ When did you first discover your abilities? how?

"I've had them as far back as I can remember-- I was always nauseous and felt sick when I was a kid. I even used to carry around laundry sheets in my pockets and hold them to my face when it got real bad."

"I always wondered how everyone else was having such an easy time with how bad everything could smell, but when I kept talking about the way everywhere smelled like rotting flesh and blood, only to get weird looks each time, I started to connect some dots."

🧠 What does it feel like to use your abilities?

"It feels a bit like... like a tingling sensation in my head and sinuses, whenever I'm actively focusing down on a scent to track it or 'read' its properties. There's also just an ever-present faint tingling in my head regardless, but I've learned to completely tune it out by now."

"Scent is tied to memories very strongly, so I suspect a part of this power is likely memory-based. I'll often have memories resurface in my mind whether or not I want them to-- ones that are always related to the scent I'm examining, of course."

"There's a lot more to it, but I've never really thought to put how it feels into words, since no one's ever asked that before."

📏 When was a time your abilities got you in trouble?

"Oh, plenty of times. Do you know how little someone wants to be caught hiding the body of someone from a higher caste than them? Or to have some kid telling everyone to stay away from an area that 'smells like dead bodies' when that's where they wait for victims?"

"People aren't huge on getting caught when they think they've been so thorough and careful, either. Add in when people in the fleet know about your powers and choose to kill people anyway? They'll watch you like a hawk for the smallest indication you've caught the scent."

"Suffice it to say guilty people don't like me or my powers all too much-- it's led to a good handful or two of attempts on my life and some stalking, among other things."
