It was a quiet evening in the newly located safe haven, Or at least it felt like a evening, it was hard to tell time all the way down here, but that didn't matter at the moment, doey was currently reading a book to all of the little toys happily, Matthew specifically taking the wheel, it was a old play time co branded book about huggy wuggy and kissy missy going camping, sure it wasn't anyone's favorite favorite book but it'll have to do, hopefully they'll find another one soon..

As he flipped to the last page, A familiar friendly face entered the room

Ms parr, other wise known as ms willbur! A old staff member who some how got spared during the hour of joy and needed to live through this hell for a decade, but even in a heartbreaking living situation for everyone, the two still tried to make the most of it, no matter how hard it was

Ms willbur put her large bobby bear hug pelt near the entrance of the haven, small boxes of berries and something else in her hold, she grew the berries in her own small survival garden and was willing to share, walking over willbur watched as the reading came to a close, giving a clap to draw some attention, ms willbur spoke with a certain warmth

" woah what a awesome story guys! I love the ending "

The small toys giggled, getting up and running over to their friend with excited little hops, ms willbur smiled gently at this, kneeling down to be at eye level, the older woman spoke as she began to pass out berries

" hey little ones, take some berries, y'all must be hungry "

The critters and wuggies munched down on these snacks, something sweet and refreshing is rare in this harsh environment, but it really brightened their spirits, and dim starvation

Doey stepped on over with a little bounce in his step as well, sitting down besides the critters eating out of ms parrs palms, he let his shoulders slouch, lowering his guard in the her presence, Ms willbur noticed this, cracking a welcoming smile with crinkled eyes, she greeted him

" hey doey, glad to see you "

Doey tilted his head, giving a toothless clay grin and tipping his dough hat

" hiya pal! How are you? Been awhile since the saw you, I was getting worried, believe it or not "

" oh I'm fine, you know me.. "

Willbur waved away his slight concern, Giving his hand a pat, Doey inhaled, He couldn't help but feel a tad upset by the vague answers ms Parr gives, but he pushed that down for now

" oh! And I have something for you, doughball "

This caught doeys attention, Seeing willbur take out another carton of blue berries

" these are for you kiddo! "

the doughman looked surprised, gently taking it in his hands like its a precious treasure, in a sense it was.

" w-woah, really?? You sure?? "

" yeah of course! You boys have been working so hard ever since...- the whole old safe haven accident, y'all deserve it "

Willbur responded, voice softer than before to bring a little ease, knowing that the old safe haven blowing up everyone has been on edge, especially doey

" w-wow thankyou! We..- really appreciate this.. "

" it's not a problem, also, Beatrice told me you were low on books right? Well, I found a little something you might enjoyy- "

" heheh, you're just full of surprises, aren't ya pal? "

Doey exclaimed, amused but cheery, a little kicken chicken plush pushed itself up on doeys knee as the two talked, wanting in on the conversation

" ahah! Well you know how much I love surprises "

Willbur spoke, sarcasm thinly coating her tone, dusting off her hands on her pants, ms parr then pulled out a book from her jumpers inner pocket, but not just any book, it was-

" look! The adventures of the word wizard! "

Doey Audibly gasped at the reveal, the surprise almost knocked off kicken, but doey caught them quickly, setting them down right next to him before almost choking

" you- you found it! My- ahh..how did- "

" found it in the rubble, Its a little teared up but I fixed it the best I could, I promise "

Willbur explained, giving a reassuring nod by the end, doey took the book and held it close to his chest, closing his eyes

" ahah oh...you're a miracle worker, really, I don't know how to thank you, for everything.. "

" you know you don't, I just want you guys to be safe, and somewhat comfortable, you're my family too ya know.. "

doey could feel his heart swell and eyes dampen just a tad, wiping a hand across his face, the doughman said

" yeah... Still, thankyou.. "

Willbur took a small composing breath, with a flick of her wrist she asked

" you want to do the honors? "

Doey almost squealed, shaking off all the excited chitters, he nodded, as he began, little toys turned their heads to him, blue berry and strawberry juices staining their little numby hands, they began to sit in a circle, wanting to listen in on a good story, just like old times..

" once upon a time.. "

Oooohhhh boy, way, waayyyy too many!! :DD

I won't be able to put all of 'em down, since that would be a very, very, very long post, but I'll put down a few for you, for now.

Possibly HUGE lore drops for As My Own here, as well as spoilers? But like, not really? Idk, vague things, so imma hide them just in case someone doesn't wanna see :DD

His favourite carnivorous dinosaur is the Spinosaurus, he's loved all of the scenes of it in the third Jurassic Park film.

His favourite herbivore dinosaur is an Amargasaurus. Either that, or Dreadnoughtus (simply because he thinks having the name "fears nothing" is super cool)

Owns a couple figures from the "Alien" franchise! His favourite is the Xenomorph Queen that Spirit (the Player) gifted him one Christmas. He really cherishes her...

Oh, yea, team xenomorph btw. He loves them. He feels like he sees himself in them somewhat. Had scared Spirit and others NUMEROUS times by mimicking the noises they make in the films.

Is very into entomology! Likes to watch insects a lot (specifically spiders and butterflies, those fascinate him the most)

Is INCREDIBLY clingy. Like, will follow you around like your own shadow clingy. Though only to Spirit, since he feels the safest with them and didn't get on the best of terms with his big sister yet..

Speaking of, he sometimes makes some dresses/clothes for Poppy himself! Kid's got a knack for sewing and creating, and the ex-employee is genuienly considering introducing him to crocheting or getting him a proper sewing set and some more fabrics.

His favourite song is "It's Alright" by East 17. He sometimes sings it to himself whenever he feels a bit down.

That being mentioned, he also LOVES listening to songs. Be it the radio, or from a CD... he doesn't care, he really loves music. Sometimes, Spirit uses HIM as a radio instead, whenever the signal is bad due to weather. (Sing alongs are sometimes very much a thing they do.)

Out of everyone so far, the closest he's got to somebody (relationship-wise) would be Maggie and Poppy. With Maggie, it's the constant fights over chocolate that they're having sometimes ending up in them throwing (mostly) playful insults at eachother that got them into a rather "acquaintance-like" state. Poppy is.. a bit more complicated, but they tolerate eachother.

Same as Daddy Long Legs, actually! While he himself is still rather unsure about how to act around his former leader, Spirit helps him see the kid for as he is: A very hurt and traumatised child, as is everybody else. So, while the Overseer might still be rather wary of him, he is never hostile to him. (Not like he normally is to anyone, that guy has a heart of gold underneath that plastic and flesh..)

Might've developed a small child crush on Knight Rider. Whether it's on Michael Knight, or the sentient car AI K.I.T.T., he refuses to elaborate. (The Player only assumes so, judging by one instance where Ollie sounded almost dreamy whenever he mentioned the show. Then again, they might just be looking at it from a different perspective..)

Despite being a GLUTTON for chocolates, he also really likes fruits! Amongst his favourite ones are pomegranates and kiwis. Really dislikes pears and mangos for whatever reason.. Spirit thinks it's cause of the texture.

A funny one now: The kiddo somehow managed to learn The Player's scent (Not for any weird reason at all) and is now capable of predicitng (with terrifying accuracy) how long they've been gone for just by the scent left at home. He's got lots of weird hidden little talents. Spirit is proud of all of those. Proud of all of him.

Oliver is also INCREDIBLY talkative. He LOVES to talk, despite not looking like it at all. But if there is a topic he is genuienly interested in, and you indulge him, he's able to talk about facts about that specific thing for HOURS!! (Spiders, butterflies, and bugs are one of those he loves to talk about, but, obviously, not everyone is interested in that)

He also really loves to swim. Spirit had to specifically make sure his body is waterproof, because he kept scampering off and zooming around like a little sea serpent. (that being said, the little nefarious bastard also pranked the human into thinking that a part of a lake was shallow. Spirit couldn't live down the embarrassment of plummeting deep under the surface when they stepped out to grab him for WEEKS. Still one of Oliver's most prided pranks..)

If there is ONE SINGLE PERSON that he would willingly share chocolate with, it's Poppy. He offered her some a few times, and she mostly accepts white and milk chocolates.

Really dislikes spicy food. NOT a fan. Poppy, on the other hand....

Likes to draw a lot. Sometimes joins in at drawing hours with Daddy Long Legs. (Though, at somewhat of a distance, since most of the little ones are still rather scared of him. He just really enjoys the peace and the sound of pencils, markers and whatever else used for art on paper.)

Actually somewhat dislikes being associated with being human. Generally dislikes humans as a whole.. Prefers animals over the presence of people (the other toys, Spirit and //////// are an exception)

His favourite birds are barn owls and the american woodcock. Very specifically, the american woodcock right on the residence where they all live. He absolutely loves the sound that lil thing makes and does it out of the blue at random times himself. Who wouldn't want to 'meep' though, it's such a fun sound.... (He regularly parrots the bird's sounds right back at it, and he can hold up doing it for hours.)

Is very fascinated by water. Loves watching it flow, and generally even feeling it on his metallic fingers. Also loves the feeling of soft sand, but only underwater, when you pick it up and it feels very nice and doesn't stick to you or get into your joints.. (ow)

Annnndd I think that's enough!!! For now, at least.. Do with these as you will... :33
