The dates are skewed but I literally have no idea how to do them better, Prague Race ran from 2008 to 2018/19, then went on hiatus and the website was taken down in 2021. Emil's first concept sketches are from 2011 and 2012 but Minna drew a similar looking character even earlier. Anyway, Emil's first appearance in the comic was in 2014 so I chose this date. Lastly, another similarity they share: their comics ended in unusual circumstances. Prace was cancelled and taken down and SSSS cut short and got got a bland, rushed ending due to the author's conversion to christianity. bleh

Putting up a little FAQ for all those who ask me about Prague Race, just so I can just link this instead of writing a reply every time someone asks about it!

A: is the comic readable online anymore?

no, I simply forgot to pay for the domain and it went offline.

A: will you be working on Prague race again?

no, it's been almost ten years since I started having a burnout of the project and decided to lay it to rest. I've moved on to other projects and won't return to Prague Race.

A: character x/concept x from your future project reminds me of Prague Race. Does this mean the comic will continue/ are you working on a remake of Prague Race?

I am working on another comic that does have a lot of same concepts, although they are not related in any way to Prague Race. There were many fun designs that I had been drawing since I was six years old (like Fishsticks, one of my very first oc's) and I will be using those designs in my future project, hoping to finally give them the story they deserve to be in.

When you read the future story, please remember that if you know something about Prague Race, you don't know anything about the future project. Even if you might see familiar designs or concepts, they are in no way related to each other. You cannot predict what's to come in the future project because you've seen the design before in another project. I also hope you will give new readers a peace of mind and don't go spreading theories that have roots in the events of Prague Race, I don't want readers to feel like they should read a previous project so they can keep up with the current one. Also spreading theories that have no ground on anywhere will just make the reading experience confusing for everyone.

A: Will Prague Race ever be readable online?

I'm still thinking about this. There's a possibility I'd make it an ebook, but then again I'm afraid the existence of it would give people too much confusion when the future project comes finally online. Also I'm still not sure if I'm ready to get new readers on board of a dead comic, and then make them disappointed by its discontinuation. (aka, I'm tired of receiving angry comments about this subject, haha!)

I think it would make a fun secret with all the old readers, that we shared this journey in our past and now when I'm finally ready and experienced enough to work on a completely new, huge fantasy comic project, it would feel like a nostalgic experience to some as well as new and exciting.

I do hope to deliver a story that people will enjoy, because I'm very, VERY excited about it and I'm pouring my heart into it, so I hope you all give it a chance!

Happi je tradičné japonské oblečenie, ktoré sa nosí najmä počas slávností a festivalov. Tradične obsahuje krátke texty, či znaky a emblémy súvisiace s konkrétnou udalosťou. Moje oblečenie z autorského ručného papiera je snahou o pochopenie, priblíženie sa, pričom pozdvihuje bežnú každodennú realitu intímnych textov a kresieb na slávnostnú performatívnu udalosť. Zozbierané fragmenty denníkových či literárnych textov, bežných stream of consciousness zápiskov a kresieb pochádzajú od viacerých autorov, ktorí sa pravidelne pohybujú v mojej blízkosti. A napriek tomu všetkému ide „len“ o pokus, o oblečenie, pretože moja vlastná skutočnosť mi neumožňuje byť nikým iným, vidieť jeho očami a premýšľať jeho slovami. Texty sa stretávajú, prelínajú a zase rozchádzajú.

Práca bola súčasťou týždňovej inštalácie na Fare na ulici Hozova 1.
