Hey Secret~ Long time fun (yay dinosaurs~) I've been following your tumblr since the early days and often been inspired by your work~ I recently watched a couple of your youtube course about inductions and how-tos, loved them all~ Your energy and presence has always been a blessing for the community~ I've been doing text-hypnosis exclusively for the longest time but i'm to the point that it's become tiring having to deal with its limitations (kinda feel bad for not giving my subjects the reprieve of closing their eyes)~ That said, i've been kinda reluctant to go into voice hypnosis, mainly cause i fear i'm going to lose the flow of my trances to stuttering, ummms etc (english isn't my mother language, and though i feel comfortable in my skills in it, i'm not the most avid speaker~) I was wondering if you got any tips on how to work around that or generally getting started on voice hypnosis~ (definitely got buying an external microphone up on my priorities too~). Thanks for your time and keep it trance-y~
Hey hey!! I know it's been nearly ten years (well, actually ten years this year) since I started going by Secret Subject online and it's been a wild ride that's for sure!! I'm so glad I can help people with this. Before I started doing hypnosis professionally I was a teacher and have a degree in it so it's a massive passion of mine and while I can't teach anymore, it's good to be able to use those skills in a different way.
I completely feel that! Going from text to voiced hypnosis can be a big step but there are ways to make things easier. The biggest thing is practice, practice, practice. The first time you do it it might feel weird, but after that things should get better and it took me YEARS to feel comfy enough working one on one with people and not nervous to start my inductions. Especially because I spent a lot of time hypnotizing the easiest subject... a microphone.
Whatever you normally do over text can be shifted to voiced hypnosis, so start there. Keep it simple and do what you normally do but now you can of course use their closing eyes (which drops a person into a light state of trance anyway) as a bonus way to make things easier for you and them. Flow will come. Patter takes practice so it's okay if at first you stumble and um and ah. Make that part of your induction. Each stutter skips your mind. Takes you deeper with each um. Maybe even make the um an anchor for them to let their thoughts go while they are in trance with you.
The other massive tip I have is Zebu Cards are a great way to learn hypnotic language patterns. I use the Salad Card app (but this is not free). You can google zebu card pdf for a free version of this. Use these as sentence starters and have them handy to keep yourself on track. It just gets you used to putting a variety of hypnotic language into practice. Eventually it becomes second nature but until then don't be afraid to rely on notes, bullet points and cards like this to get you started. I've seen a lot of freestyle inductions recently that just feel aimless from people, and I think the important thing with hypnosis is patter is good and fine but also remember the goal. Get there. It doesn't need to take hours to do so, but it can if that's what you like. Even if the end goal is hypnosis for the sake of hypnosis, it's like any good book there is beginning, middle and end point. But keep in mind the subject's journey and try and think about how they are reacting and responding. Even better if you can see them doing so but if not don't be afraid to get feedback from them. Even a, yes I am hypnotized. I am going deeper helps a lot.
I hope this helps!!
