I’ve finally been able to go to the gym on a regular basis again! Life got super busy so I had to take a break for awhile, and as a result I lost some strength and technique. Here’s what I did today. Not perfect, but I’m proud.

How long have you been doing aerials?
Not very long. I started last June, and I’ve taken a lot of breaks from it because of other stuff I had going on.
Finally done with my show and (almost) done with grad school auditions, so I had some time to get up in the air today!
Hooray new trick!
Training some basic rope moves today ❤
I know this is from a while back but look at how talented one of my best friends is. Plus, she’s a science genius, she is multidisciplinary and it makes me so proud.
I love you and can’t wakt to see you over Christmas. 😘
Thank you friend can’t wait to see you too! ❤❤ @avillainousmagician
So cool! I tried rope for the first time the other day and it is not easy!
Several more new moves today, but I also went back to basics with the bottom right pose… I couldn’t not do ‘mermaid’ in these leggings now, could I?! :P
I love this!
EXERCISE IS ESSENTIAL
I CAN TESTIFY FOR ALL THIS!! AWESOME INFORMATION :D
Today’s silks class was pretty damn intense. I was the only student who showed up, so I spent a lot more time in the air than usual. (Normally there are more students than apparatuses, so I get a fair amount of downtime while I’m waiting for my turn.) My arms and shoulders are toast now, but at least I got a lot of time to practice the things I’ve been working on. (I came SO CLOSE to getting my eggbeater double footlocks today. SO CLOSE. If only my legs were just a little longer.)
Also, I tried trapeze for the first time today! The only other time I’d attempted it was just for conditioning stuff, so I’d never learned any tricks or anything. But I did a bird’s nest! I wasn’t even going to try it because the trapeze was hung pretty high and I didn’t think I’d be able to pull myself up, but I surprised myself.
Now I have a couple hours of down time before I go back for a two-hour stretching session. Which sounds AMAZING right now.
Okay real talk though: how does anyone do drops without freaking the heck out? I tried to do a single on the hammock the other day with a spotter who was also holding my legs so I’d fall super slowly and I still almost cried.

GOALS
Tomorrow’s agenda: afternoon tissu/hammock class followed by a late afternoon/evening stretching session. I usually don’t ever go to two classes in the same day, but tomorrow’s my day off and I couldn’t decide which class I wanted to go to more. (I mean, I WANTED to go to the tissu/hammock class, but I really need to work on my flexibility. Gotta get that flat split!)
Also hoping to work on my eggbeater footlocks tomorrow. I thought I had them down yesterday, but after watching some YouTube videos of other people doing them I realized I hadn’t been doing them correctly. I can do double footlocks the cheater way (where you just do a regular footlock on each foot), but the eggbeater way looks so much cooler.

(Also yes I KNOW my feet aren’t pointed I’m still learning okay!!!)
