"The charm put by Bride the beneficient,
On her goats, on her sheep, on her kine,
On her horses, on her chargers, on her herds,
Early and late going home, and from home.
To keep them from rocks and ridges,
From the heels and the horns of one another,
From the birds of the Red Rock,
And from Luath of the Feinne.
From the blue peregrine hawk of Creag Duilion,
From the bridled eagle of Ben-Ard,
From the swift hawk of Tordun,
From the surly raven of Bard's Creag.
From the fox of the wiles,
From the wolf of the Mam,
From the foul-smelling fumart,
And from the restless great-hipped bear.
From every hoofed of four feet,
And from every hatched of two wings."
-Carmina Gadelica, Volume II. Edited by Alexander Carmichael. Attributed by Carmichael to Mary MacVuirich of S. Lochboisdale.
Prayer request: for all of us that are now facing out of control people, rioting and those moving around cities just looking to create violence and fear. May God protect us and be with us in our time of need.

1 When I call, answer me, O God of my integrity!
Deliver me from my distress!
Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
2 O men, how long will you try to destroy my dignity?
How long will you assault me with lust and continue to live a lie?
3 Know that God protects Her daughters!
She hears when I call out for help!
4 Stop sinning, and repent with fear and trembling.
Consult the depths of your own hearts in sacred silence.
5 Offer to God the sacrifices of integrity and respect for all.
6 Many women say, "Who can do us any good?" Let the light of Your face shine upon us, O God.
7 You fill my heart with a joy that is greater than the pleasure of those stuffed with the best food and drink.
8 In peace I will lie down and sleep.
For in You, Shaddai, I dwell in safety.

1 Blessed is the woman who ignores the advice of the wicked, who avoids all the ways of sinners, who refuses to sit with the scornful.
2 She delights instead in the will of God.
She muses on God's word day and night.
3 She is like a tree planted by rivers of water,
fruitful in season, with unwithered leaves.
She prospers in everything she does.
4 But the wicked are nothing like her.
They are like chaff which the wind blows away.
5 They cannot stand in the face of judgment;
they cannot remain among the righteous.
6 Shaddai establishes the ways of the just,
but the way of the unjust shall surely perish
Possible uses of this psalm:
Diminish the strength of the enemy
Protection from those who wish to harm you (pray over a purple candle each morning)
1 Help us all, Shaddai, for the godly cease to exist! The faithful fade and fail among this people.
2 It seems that everyone speaks falsely with their neighbors, with flattering lips and dishonest hearts.
3 God will silence all flattering lips, still all lying tongues- 4 all those who say, "Who has any say over us? We shall say what we like, and prevail!"
5 God says, "I will now arise, because of the pain of the poor and the needy. I will give them the well-being they long for."
6 These words of God are like pure silver, refined in the fire seven times.
7-8 She shall preserve the poor and guard them forever from this hard-hearted generation.
Psalm 12 (feminine translation from Swallow's Nest: A Feminine Reading of the Psalms by Marchiene Rienstra)
Possible uses of this psalm:

1 O God, You seem so far away! You seem to be in hiding in these times of trouble.
2 In pride the wicked pursue the poor, trapping them in violent schemes.
3 Evildoers indulge their hearts' wicked desires, and the greedy despise God's just will.
4 "There is no God," they say to themselves.
5 Their ways seem to be prospering. They do not see or grasp Your judgments. They sneer at all their enemies.
6 They think that they are untouchable, that calamity will never strike them.
7 Their mouths are filled with cursing, their hearts with deceit and hate. Their tongues are filled with mischief and fraud.
8 They sit in deserted doorways and alleys, poised to ambush and murder the innocent. Their eyes keep a sharp lookout for the helpless.
9 They lurk under cover like beasts, lying in wait for the weak.
10 So many of us stumble and are crushed by their violent strength.
11 These wicked men think God overlooks them, and does not see their crimes.
12 O God, rouse Yourself and lift Your hand to save us! Do not forget us in our affliction!
13 Do not let the wicked get away with renouncing You.
Do not let them say in their hearts, "God will never call us to account."
14 You certainly see the trouble they cause. Repay them with Your righteous hand, we pray.
The helpless commit themselves to Your care, for You are the Guardian of abandoned little ones.
15 Break the power of these worshipers of violence. Search out and destroy all their evil.
16 For You, Shaddai, will reign forever, but the wicked shall perish from the earth.
17 O God, You hear the cry of the humble and fix their hearts firmly on You.
18 You give fair hearing and just judgment to children and all the oppressed, so that cruelty might be restrained, and the violent terrorize no more.
Psalm 10 (feminine translation from Swallow's Nest: A Feminine Reading of the Psalms by Marchiene Rienstra)

1 O God, my enemies multiply in number. So many keep coming against me!
2 They scornfully say, "God will never save her!"
3 But You, O God, are my wall of protection.
I glory in You, and in Your strength hold my head high.
4 I cry loudly to You, and You answer me.
5 I lie down and sleep in safety.
You keep watch over me until I wake again.
6 In spite of the violent people who surround me,
I am not afraid, nor faint-hearted.
7 I know that You will rise up and save me, breaking the power of violence.
8 Salvation belongs to You, Shaddai!
Your blessing abides with Your people.
