MarchWeres Day 15
Prompt: Predator-Prey (NSFW alt prompt)
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Tabby (oc)
Warnings: Suggestive
A/N: Lackluster in the NSFW department but I like it anyway!
Looking for Weaknesses
No-one wants to be eaten, and here two types of bacteria, Vibrio cholerae (highlighted in red) and Escherichia coli (yellow) do their best to avoid a predator. A third bacteria called Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus (blue) stalks the perimeter of these bacterial colonies or biofilms, picking off stray E.coli. Researchers watching these tiny sieges spot that V. cholerae are usually able to defend themselves by arranging defensive ‘walls’, but adding em>E.coli. to the mix disrupts these defences. This mixed biofilm give E.coli. sanctuary – they’re more likely to survive attack – but leave V. cholerae more vulnerable – a heroic sacrifice to protect the weak perhaps? The success of these sprawling communities (each around one billion times smaller than a medieval city) also depends on where they grow. As these microbes are potentially hazardous to human health, scientists use clues in these predator-prey studies to spot weaknesses in biofilms in hospitals and public places.

what is that game called “hunter prey” you mentioned?
Answered in recent post :)
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSE OF Diplonychus indicus VENK. & RAO (HEMIPTERA: BELOSTOMATIDAE) AGAINST Aedes aegypti LINNAEUS AND Aedes albopictus SKUSE (DIPTERA: CULICIDAE) | UTTAR PRADESH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGY
The predatory performance of the hemipteran water bug Diplonychus indicus was tested for 72 hours with different prey densities against its prey Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus larvae. From 1 prey per single predator to 32 prey per single predator, the amount of prey killed increased as prey density increased. The attack rate increased as the prey density level increased, peaking at 16 prey density (22.30) and lowest at 4 prey density (3.77) for Aedes aegypti, and peaking at one prey density (7.70) and lowest at maximum prey density level for Aedes albopictus (3.44). Diplonychus indicus took 0.0193 days (27.79 minutes) to handle Aedes aegypti larvae and 0.0108 days (15.55 minutes) to handle Aedes albopictus larvae. After 72 hours, when the prey density level was 32, the predator killed a total of 140.22 Aedes aegypti and 151.07 Aedes albopictus larvae. For both Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, regression analysis of prey density against number of prey attacked over 72 hours revealed a significantly positive slope. The functional response study of Diplonychus indicus showed a Type II functional response during the predation experiment. Several factors, particularly strike and foraging performance, influence the functional response of a predator's search mode, which are complex and can only be understood by looking at each component separately. Are You the Hunter or the Prey?
This dream took place in a universe that was very akin to Okegom/Funamasea, in the fact that everyone had humanoid forms and also animal forms.
I, or more mc, was closer to a prey than a hunter. Hunters tended to be orcas, tigers, sharks (apex predators essentially)
The curious thing was I would protect my friend, Senpai. I had died a couple times with each new life seeming to make me more, submussive.
Aside from having to evade being killed, I save one of my hunters, he was an orca, which
I did figure he'd kill me in the end.
For whatever reason, he doesn't. If anything it seemed as if he almost had some kind of feelings for me. Even with the fact around his fellow hunters he was crueler.
‘The Hunt’ on BBC1
Absolutely fantastic. The behaviour and photography were the best I’ve seen.
Hive pets?
A fox.
His name is Derp. Some might also argue that Cody, Ramsay and Maxx are pets.Maxx would like to inform everyone that he is not a pet. -Pete
I would like it made clear that I am in fact not a pet and nor is Maxx. Josh however is definitely a pet.-Cody
