Q&A #20 - A Few Pointers On Preperation

This is a question about how I prepare for short films and indeed for any shoot. Main pointers are as follows:

Information is power and so you are gathering as much of it as possible in terms of matching the expectations of the script and the director's vision to the realities of the locations or actions of characters or camera movements etc...

Read through the script as a good guide for how things will go. I always remember the saying "you write one film, shoot one film and edit one film" so this will largely change but getting a sense of how it matches the storyboards will give you a better sense of pace and rhythm. Once you understand that flow of the film you can help make better calls on the day.

Preparation day, year…and millennium? Tonight we talked about the similarities and purpose between the weekly preparation day, year and millennium. Yehovah wants us to prepare for His Sabbaths and He said that He is preparing for our time of rest as well. May we all rest in His instructions and not be found at the wedding without our wedding clothes!

Are you preparing? Tonight we talked about the day of preparation, or, the 6th day of the week. Preparation day is a day to gather in twice as much food (etc.) as a normal day so we can be ready for a restful Shabbat. The “preparation day” has prophetic meaning as well in regards to the 6th millennium. May you and your family prepare according to His Word and you will be safe in His rest! Shalom!

Blood Red Meat's Preparation Day/Call Sheet/Production Schedule.

All props were kept in the labelled boxes in the 'Props Cupboard'. 

As a Props Master for this film, I was in charge of all the props that had to be in place on set. On the preparation day along with the Props Maker (Jonas Rotne) I was preparing the props for the filming day. I had to paint the vases and give them to the Props Maker who had to break them and glue them back again (for the film's purposes).

The crew was in charge of setting up the equipment and it was a really good opportunity to get the best insight how this process works.

In the evening, we all received a call sheet and production schedule for the next day.
