Honestly, my first thought went to a prequel for No Defense! So throw in Space AU while we're at it. 😂

Izayoi is an early space pioneer on a new human colony that is further out than humans have every ventured before. Maybe we'll take a classic InuParents meet up trope with a twist and he crash lands on her colony. She finds him while or foraging, tends to his injuries, then finds herself falling a bit in love with him. When Touga's people come for him, be promises to keep in touch. The recorded messages that are required, due to the distance in space they have to travel, feel more like AV letters. After months of this, Touga is fed up with waiting to hear back and goes back to Izayoi's planet, only to find she is very unwillingly about to be married off to the magistrate's son. Cue verbal and then physical battle with Takemaru for her hand.

We can leave the less pleasant bits about how they end up apart with Izayoi and Inuyasha alone on a human colony out of this one. Cuz ouch.
