We're calling this ship PricklyPunk <3
It’s been a long month.
Chapter 17 of Kiss Me, Son of God is FINALLY out on ao3 and Wattpad.
This chapter is for the PricklyPunk shippers. 🙏

"You're broken from the start, Vincent. No victory will ever be enough for you." Vox has finally done it. He's a god. He's ascended to Heave

I can't find the post now, but I remember seeing someone headcanon that Prick and Hatchet are relatively new Overlords - specifically that they came into power in late season 1 or between seasons 1 and 2.
The idea was that with Pentious staying at the hotel and Cherri not being involved in the turf war anymore, the two of them snapped up the territory they were fighting over along with the territory that they already owned, and ended up gaining just enough power to become Overlords. And I love this idea.
I mean, we've already been comparing them to Cherrisnake, so it just makes sense to lean into that and make the branching paths of Hotel Guests vs Overlords as the ways each duo could have gone more overt. I also really like it because we've seen Prick and Hatchet in the background of season 1 a couple of times:
It's their turf war that Vaggi throws Angel and Pentious into in s1e3 (which I don't think she'd do if Prick and Hatchet were already Overlords);
Prick is notably scared of Zestial and/or Alastor when he sees them walk past him in s1e3, while none of the other Overlords are particularly scared or uncomfortable around him/them;
Hatchet is hanging out in the bar in s1e4 that Angel and Husk end up in (which, again, while Angel isn't in a great headspace, I don't think he'd choose to go right to another Overlord's territory)
ON TOP of all of this, I think Charlie's drawings from the beginning of s2e8 reinforce this!
All of the other Overlords are included in this drawing, suggesting that Charlie is at least aware of them, regardless of whether or not she's met them personally. The only Overlords other than Prick and Hatchet who aren't present are the Vees - and of course Charlie couldn't predict Val & Vel turning against Vox and helping out with containing the explosion. Prick and Hatchet, on the other hand, don't have an (Watsonian) explanation for not being included in this drawing, except for Charlie not knowing that they're Overlords.
TL;DR When Cherri finds out that Prick and Hatchet are new Overlords because of the turf that she and Pentious are no longer fighting over, she blows up the Hotel wall again in a fit of indignantion.
This Hazbin Hotel collage is of Prick and Hatchet, the two background characters from season one who turn out to be overlords in season two. Even though they are rivals part of me likes to think that the two ended up becoming friends after Curtain Call, I'm also curious about their rivalry and what might have caused it. Was it over a disagreement over their taste in life styles and music, a fight over territory, or are they like Cherri and Pentious? With one or both of them pretending to hate the other while using their fights as a means to see one another.
From what I can tell this ship has been called PricklyPunk, but if you have any ideas on what their other titles are or could be, please share in the comments.
So… the western-themed sinner in the middle… does anyone else think that he was an ally of Prick's, given the similar attire? Or at least knew one another?
Him and the thirsty ant sinner seen harassing Angel next to him are notably some of the guests that stayed at the hotel the longest (beaten only by Rooster) even though he initially wasn't impressed with Charlie's singalongs. So Vox slandering the hotel and rounding up all the overlords did nothing for him… but Heaven's embarrassing "apology" is what gets him to finally storm out.
We know Prick has other cowboy sinners under his belt (pun somewhat intended) during the "Bad With Us" sequence, but even after that if they were once hypothetical allies, the sinner in the background still refuses to regroup with Prick.
Perhaps Prick's borderline homoerotic obsession with fighting Hatchet is what caused him to abandon. Perhaps they both lost someone to the Exorcist angels and it caused a split. Maybe both, given the melancholic look we see on Prick in the pilot that we don't see again:
Like Prick looks like someone he knew died, or he just went through a really bad break up. Again, possibly both.
I'm already planning to explore the possibility of them in my recent fic, but hey, just food for thought.
Tl;dr: Potential divorced cowboys arc that I think is good fan-fic and headcanon fuel if any other Prick/Hatchet fans want to take advantage of it. //brick'd
