How long do you think someone should worship a deity before considering becoming a priest/priestess?

Personally I think it’s not something a worshiper should even think about until they at the very least make it past the first year mark. Tho to be honest I really think more like two years as the bare minimum.

I say this because I’ve noticed that today’s generations are very quick to jump into things and commit themselves to things thinking that they know how they’ll feel, what they want, and what things will be like in the future.

I can’t even tell you how many worshipers show up in my inbox saying they made promises and oaths to their deities that they realized they can’t keep mainly bc they made those commitments on the assumption that their future selves would still be on board.

Being a Priest/ess is a BIG commitment. One you have to be sure you (and your future self) are ready to take on. You need the time to feel comfortable in your worship and be committed to it before you take on bigger obligations.

Ultimately tho, I think it depends on the worshiper. I’m being overly cautious with my response because as I mentioned there is a problem in the community with worshipers wanting to jump to the next thing ASAP. Before they even find their footing in regular worship they’re asking about devoting or oathing (dont do it!) or being a priest/ess. So i want to encourage people to take their time and stop looking to the next thing so quickly.

My journey with becoming a Priestess happened very naturally. I didn’t look for it it just happened. I even tried to fight it for awhile which is customary for me with all things that are good lol! I don’t necessarily think that’s how everyone should be, but I do think people need to take great care in the decision and understand what it means and what it entails.

Everything comes to an end so that new beginnings can blossom. The foundation you have built is a bit faulty, so it needs to be redone. This time with greater care, so make sure to take your time and do it properly. It’ll be stressful at first but once you get into the groove of it all, it’ll become easier. Change is good. New things must grow. Amongst all the chaos, be the light that others need to inspire everyone to keep moving forward. Always take your time to grieve what is left behind but keep your chin up. Things will get better with each step. This is a major arcana, so it may be time for you to look inward as well. What sort of changes do you need to make for your light to shine? Ruby is a stone of passion and courage. Its energies can help you move forward this week with courage and love. Meditate with one, carry a piece or embody its energies.

Any sort of problems you have ran into, you need to start facing them head on. Straightforward. Sure, they’re challenging but the longer you put it off, the harder it gets. Just do it. Seek the truth and dispel the confusion that is arising. Slice through the fog and come out victorious. A battle hard won, for sure. Clear your mind and remember to breathe. It may be difficult for some, but others may just grit their teeth and lunge forward. Don’t compare yourself to others, do it your way but do it, nonetheless. No more procrastinating. Resolve the bitterness. Find the truth under it all and move forward. Things will fall into place. Emerald is a great stone for love and compassion. This can help give yourself the love you need as you face these difficulties head on. Meditate with one, carry a piece or embody its energies this week.

🌹 Red Jasper: Seven of Wands

Some people are unmoving in their beliefs and where they stand. This week will ask you to be resilient and determined to push through the opposition. Yes, their way of thinking might be old and severely outdated, but you can’t change those who refuse to budge. It’ll cause a hell of a lot less stress if you just let them go and surround yourself with like-minded people instead. However, on the other hand, you could be the one holding onto beliefs and habits and way of things that no longer serve you and your highest good. It’s time to let that go. It’s time to see the bigger picture and better yourself. Grow. Blossom. Learn from the past and look forward to a better future. A better you. Let that light shine to inspire others to do the same. It takes time, for sure, but it’s damn well worth it. Red Jasper is a beautiful stone for strength and protection. Embody its energies this week to help give you those qualities when taking care of yourself and protecting against negativity.
