My mate has compared me to a lemur a handful of times and yknow,, she might me onto something
(Images of ruffed lemurs, both red and black-and-white- these two are the only two species in the genus Varecia!)

Monkey therian culture is making 'return to monkee' jokes but /srs
i was camping last week and had what i might consider a "shift", and i've been thinking about it ever since
i got this very visceral mental image of my entire body growing medium-length brown fur and my nose becoming dark and slightly damp, like how most caniform's noses are. it honestly seemed like the typical sasquatch or really oldschool werewolf portrayals
it felt like i had stepped away from human society and "unleashed the real me", even if only in my mind's eye. this is not the first time this particular shift has happened to me, and this form is one of my earliest shifting memories back in childhood
so now i'm considering if this is some novel way my gorilla theriotype manifested (since it does share many characteristics with my gorilla 'type) or if this is a different 'type entirely. one of the first 'types I thought I was was a werewolf - and I'm wondering if this is still true, but perhaps mine is a different form than most werewolf otherkin seem to be (which tends to be much more wolf-like than the classic "wolfman" archetype)
Nooooo wet beast Wednesday.....

genuine question for primate therians/kin:
I often see people talk about primates in comparison to people and really heavily anthropomorphize them. how does this make you feel? does the view of primates as Human Lite ever upset you?
I want to climd and run swing around these places so bad.
Lowkey envy monkeys and apes in zoos or parks cuz they got these fuckers
I just wanna be up high, i wanna jump all over the place and be silly :3
Sunda flying lemur (Galeopterus variegatus)
Not a lemur at all, this nocturnal glider is actually the closest living relative of primates. Also called the Sunda colugo, it is found in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, including the Malaysian peninsula and the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. It eats leaves, flowers, fruit, and sap. Although it can’t technically fly, and its extensive skin membrane certainly looks awkward, it is one of the best gliders in the animal kingdom!
