Can't stop thinking about a modern TLU setting where Amalthea does ASMR video surrounded by unicorn themed trinckets, Lìr is a gamer, and Molly and Schmendrick have a shared channel on which they prank each other (mostly Molly scarying the living lights out of Schmendrick, especially while he tries to record elaborate magic tricks).

Too tired to study tonight, so I tried to match the main characters from TLU with 5 songs each, chosen while scrolling my personal playlist (except Haggard, I have nothing matching his personality... suggestions accepted and welcomed).

I’m currently preparing an exam in Greek literature. OF COURSE I had to match the main Greek deities with TLU characters!

- The Lady Amalthea: Artemis. Goddess of the wilderness and wild animals, wanders forests alone, eternally chaste, associated with the moon;

- Schmendrick: Hermes. The trickster par excellence, protects thieves and pickpockets, deity associated with wit and cunning. Among his symbols: the satchel;

- Molly Grue: Demeter. A nurturing goddess, provider of food, extremely protective of her loved ones. Still, do not f*ck up with her: look what happened to Erysichthon!

- King Haggard: Poseidon. Ruler over the sea and the oceans, god of earthquakes (yeah, ironic) and horses. Associated with bulls in various myths;

- Prince Lìr: surprisingly difficult! One can say Ares, but Ares is the god associated with the most violent and cruel aspects of war (definitively not poor Lìr’s main trait). Maybe Apollo: poetry and art, does not have so much luck with ladies despite his good looks, associated with the sun, protector of the young.

Imaging the reactions of “The Last Unicorn” main characters as they scroll the images featuring them on the Rule34 panel:

- The Unicorn/The Lady Amalthea: neighs in distress and wonders what the actual f* is wrong with human beings. The part of her that is still mortal wishes she was already dead and her immortal side wishes she actually could die on the spot. Her human counterpart blinks, dazed, empty inside. - Schmendrick: scarred for life. Didn’t even want to check on the site in the first place and now he is hiding his face under his hat, trying to recall the spell to bleach his eyeballs. Freaks out at the lewd fantasies people have on quadrupedes and at the images featuring himself as the others’ b*tch.   - Molly: disgusted and fiercely offended by the unicorn/Amalthea pictures, slightly disappointed that there’s only one picture of herself. More than a little turned on by a couple of Schmendrick’s images, she promptly takes a screenshot of her favourite one, much to the magician’s shock. - Prince L’ir: mixed reactions, mostly horryfied by what people have drawn of his beloved. Yet, some of them are not that bad... fine artistic reinterpretation... exquisite body proportion... beautiful nipp- NO! No, that’s wrong! Bad prince! Leaves the room to go get drunk as he sees images of him and Schmendrick.  - King Haggard:... Unicorn porn does not make me happy...
