Italian, she/her, on the ace (and neurodivergent) spectrum | Birthday date overt if you are a "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared" fan | Sucker for MollyxSchmendrick |
Never, as a 100% ethnically, nationally, and culturally Italian, never ever have I had eaten so much pizza and so often now that I live in a one-horse village in the Carnic Alps, where pizza is â spoiler! â absolutely NOT traditional...
I am almost done with an intensive lifeguard training course and I am swinging between only two moods: self-doubting, anxious Schmendrick flipping through notes, and roaring Molly pushing through 16 consecutive laps in head-up front crawl.
I was unsure to reblog my answers with @thee-pixie-skull or my fan-fic account @thesmirkingcranium so let's do my edit account as been a hot minute I posted anything on here.
Lord this going to be hard, as my favorite director has made three or even four movies alone would make this list. Only no I have to switch up. So from least favorite to favorite!

A three-way tie of movies my favorite director made. NOT the order matters yet tried to list rewatchability after the tie
My first tattoo was inspired by "...Death just another path..." speech fun fact.
This song, I am confident when doing a poetry read for it, help me get over my stage fright in its own way: Book is great too! I own at least the graphic novel version.
Thanks to @thee-pixie-skull for the tag. I'll try post movies that still are faves to this day without dwelling on nostalgia too much (sorry, La gabbianella e il gatto, I still love you though...). Order not accurate.

So, not only I now live basically in the woods in an alpine area, but my job also requires me to be barefoot (just socks allowed but without is better) all the time?
My metamorphosis into Molly Grue is becoming more and more real every day...
Plus, I am also the by default cook for shared meals and dinners with colleagues and flatmates... Go figure.
I don't know what frigging Pandora box I have unadvertedly opened in my head lately, but I have been coming up with a shit-ton of ideas for tlu themed fics that I am struggling to organize and develop because they are coming so fast and so suddenly. Just a taste:
a one-shot ficlet that serves as a prequel for The Woman Who Married the Man in the Moon (with an extra serving of angst)
a fluff short fiction about the five love languages, paralleling AmaltheaxLir and MollyĂSchmendrick
A fairy tale sort of fiction about Molly and Schmendrick learning to know each other better as a couple, dealing with their own traumatic experiences (post-canon, their next adventure after the official one is over)
An AU setting where Schmendrick is sent back home by Nikos, with more in-depth into his family dynamics (LOTS about Sardana)
Any input on which one I can focus on is welcomed!
Will always love how Schmendrick is basically WWOOFing his way through farms, in "Schmendrick Alone", right after leaving Nikos' home.
(This gave me the headcanon Schmen is surprisingly handy. Not professional-tier good, but competent enough with farm tools in hamd. And remember he comes from a family of coopers, he must be familiar with woodworking).
Hill I will die upon: Molly is the most accurate animated representation of how f*cking messy shoulder-length (or shorter) wavy hair can get.
It doesn't matter if you're living in the woods and wash them with grounded tree bark, or if you're an indoor being caring them with the best products, they will find a way to defy physics.
Obsessing over a sudden insight about Schmendrick and his genre savviness about fairy tales.
Per canon, in within The Last Unicorn lore and universe Schmendrick is the one who seems to possess the deepest awareness of being in a fairy tale (if one of its kind) and who is confirmed to know himself a lot of stories and fairy tales (The Woman Who Married the Man in the Moon, if you havenât read it I encourage you to do so, but be warned it is a tear jerker and deals with very uncomfortable and sensitive themes).
From The Green-Eyed Boy the reader learns Schmendrick is the youngest of three brothers and is considered by is family the lesser capable and the less smart, to the point of being given the cruel nickname he is known by everyone... He literally is one of the most widespread archetypal character of fairy tales, the youngest sibling (very often the third child) everyone mocks and scorns but who tends up living happily ever after once the hardships have been won.
So Schmendrick, knowledgeable as he is about fairy tales, might be aware of this and, at least at a youngest age, during his apprenticeship, and soon after that, might probably be holding on to the hope he will turn out victorious in the end, dearly believing everything will turn out fine for him in the end, as they should, as they always do after the protagonist has passed every test thanks to their skills and smarts... Of course, it does not work as he expected, and this frustrates and hinders him even further, delaying the "happy ever after" he is struggling so much to reach.
Me: "To be accurate, it is my third language. I am part of a linguistic minority in Italy."
"But does it really count? It's such a small community with no real use, compared to English, that it makes no sense to consider it your second language."

Whatâs that feeling when you donât want to date someone but want to BE them? It could be GENDER GOALS!
This is something Iâd struggled with for nearly my entire life and I thank the trans community for putting this into words for me. It wouldnât be the first time either! <-both comic links on this post are SFW
As a bonus I also drew this "Jey Timeline"
My visual shorthand that I usually use for flashbacks, etc.
[ID: âGender Goalsâ a comic by Jey Pawlik, is done in mint greens and choppy black lineart.
Narration: As a kid I watched The Last Unicorn a LOT.
A young Jey with long hair is sitting in front of an old CRT TV watching The Last Unicorn. On the screen The Unicorn ponders âWhat do men know? Because they have seen no unicorns for a while does not mean that we have all vanished. We do not vanish. There has never been a time without unicorns.â The TV scenes are done in a cool blue colour with a static texture overlayed on top.
Jeyâs mum pokes her head in with a â!!â and is excited about this development. She flutters around little Jey and says âOH! Youâre watching the unicorn movie again? Something CUTE?! Something GIRLY?! Ohhh~ Iâm so happy!â much to little Jeyâs annoyance. The background behind them has turned from Jeyâs usual green to purple with a floral pattern.
Narration: But it wasnât the unicorn I liked best.
The movie now shows The Unicorn and Schmendrick the Magician walking together. The Unicorn says âYou may come with me if you like. Though I wish youâd asked for some other reward for having freed me.â
Schmendrick responds âWell, I thought about it. But you could never have granted my true wish.â
The Unicorn says âNo. I cannot turn you into something you are not. I cannot turn you into a true magician.â
A ribbon obscures the bottom with the text: Read the rest on Oh Joy Sex Toy
"A Jey Timeline", a digital illustration of eight portraits of Jey at different ages: 3-6 with a bowl cut, 7-11 wearing big glasses and a long ponytail, 12-15 nervous without glasses wearing braces and short choppy greasy hair, 16-19 concerned with longer shoulder length hair, 20-23 smiling and wearing small glasses and a short shaggy hairstyle, 24-27 smiling and wearing the same small glasses but their hair is neat and tidy and shorter, 28-32 wearing their usual big rectangular glasses and shorter hair with a bigger smile, and 33+ when they've started on T and are sporting small bits of facial hair and a few greys in their even shorter hair.
