This idea came up during a chat with @squoonsquoon, and over the past weekish we have been crafting ideas for it, we would like to share with anyone who’d listen! And if anyone is so moved we would love to hear your ideas too!!
(Disclaimer: Some liberties were taken so no one is a 1:1 to any mythological being; for example, no one is related and domains that are attributed to one god are split here
Also, this AU is meant to be lighthearted and while I know Greek mythology contains some unsavory topics/actions *eherm almost everything about Zeus* we made this AU for fun so we stayed away from that)
This post is broken up into character roles and the general plot we made for this AU

MC is a regular mortal human in a stylish red chiton
Airyn, Fantina, Hector, and Wyndolyn are wind gods (Anemoi)
Hector and Fantina are cursed by Tina (read Tina’s description for context)
Arma is their keeper (Aeolus adjacent)
Abel is the Titan of Agriculture
MC found him when they were hungry and Mac directed them to Abel’s sacred garden
Amir is a water nymph
Reverse Narcissus, all who view into his waters are complimented and adored
Bathsheba is a water nymph
She is Narcissus adjacent
Ben-Hwa is one of the love gods
Their domain is Eros, lust
Betty is the primordial goddess of sleep/dreams
She has always admired MC and observe them in their dreams
Beverly is Circe adjacent
Her knack for creating drinks could be turned into potions and spells
Bobby Pinn is Hermes adjacent
God of thieves, trickery and safe travels (they have less weird looking herms)
Always had a thing for MC and would leave random loot they stole by their door
Accidentally kick started MC’s adventure, whoops
Kind of beefs with Mac over this but is also close to them since they are some of the younger gods
Their animal is a crow named Kirby (another name for bobby pin)
Bodhi is a Calypso adjacent, not sure what he is the god of
He was stuck on an island with Keith (since they are both found in the same place in-game)
He is stuck there while Keith escaped
Cam a satyr that collects trash
Expect him to be connected with nature? Nah he’s gonna do his own thing and surround himself with human’s trash
Celia is the primordial goddess of the sky
Florence is the primordial goddess of the earth
Of course the sky and the earth are in love
Chance god of fortune, chance, and prosperity
Parker always wants him around
Chairemi is the goddess of theater
Part of the muses, covers creative fields
Connie is like a more humanoid Sphinx
She has a bunch of riddles
Curt + Rod are dryads
They transform into trees to diss people up close
Though people don’t know where the voices are coming from
Get it? They’re still shady as trees
Dante the god of the sacred fire
He manages all the sacrifices to the gods through his flames
Also possibly another love god
Dorian is a Minotaur
He looks intimidating but is friendly
He is trapped in a Labyrinth that is essentially a revolving mess of doors and rooms no one knows how to manage
He is trapped there because of Keith
Has a hard time trusting bc of Keith too (expanded upon in general plot section)
Doug is the actual moon (bald head)
Dragged across the night sky by Memoria
Dolly is the goddess of History
Also part of the muses, covering the scientific aspect
Eddie + Volt gods of the storms
Eddie originally encompasses storms but split himself
Volt is lightning, he is flashy and more well known
Eddie is thunder, always accompanies volt but in the background
They are more mysterious as some worship only Volt because they don’t know about Eddie
Few people remember when it was just Eddie
Some people think Eddie is just an epithet of Volt and not 2 different gods
Friar Errol is a priest that started a cult worshiping a god that doesn’t exist
Gaia is a goddess of earthquake and travel
She is asked by Mac and Bobby for a safe place MC can go after running away
She is also a Muse (Urania adjacent)
The Hanks are Satyrs
They get into some crazy and daring shenanigans
Hero-Hima a well renowned hero
Many stories and myths about her heroism are told
Holly is the goddess of festivities and celebrations
Jean Loo is a siren
Johnny Splash is a siren
Both him and Jean Loo are actually terrible at their jobs
Usually repel sailors away rather than attracting them
Keith crooked king turned god of deceit/lies
Trapped Bodhi on the island
Trapped Dorian in the Labyrinth
Bodhi didn’t know he was the god of deceit, Keith said he was the god of updog 😔
Only one person could make it off the island and Keith didn’t tell Bodhi
Just left and ‘promised to come back’
Never does
Keyes is one of the muses
Lux is the sun god
Hates Bobby for stealing some of their followers for themself
Mac is the god of something like innovation or wisdom (maybe both), mostly due to all the information you can look up on the computer
They are in charge of pseudo oracles to give advice through visions to mortals
Always thought that one human in the red chiton was cute
Kind of but not really beefing with Bobby for getting their favorite human in trouble
Their associated animal is a mouse, Roni
Mateo is a satyr
Chills in the forest carrying for the animals that inhabit it and enjoys playing on his pan pipes
Lady Memoria is a primordial goddess of the night
She is the only one who can handle Doug
She drags his head across the night sky in a chariot
Miranda is one of the muses
Nightmare is the primordial goddess of night terrors
Sometimes argues with Betty on who will go into the human’s head that night
Parker is a Dionysus adjacent, god of games, religious ecstasy, and madness
Wants Chance around to bring prosperity with him
Phoenicia goddess of communication
MC told her to give Sam updates throughout their journey in meeting everyone
Prissy is Persophone adjacent
Married to Skips bc we thought they would be cute together
Though she also has some of Demeter’s power like harvest/fertility
Rainey is part of the muses
Reggie is like a god of mischief, though he claims to be a god of hate
River is the goddess of the sea
Sam is MC’s best friend that got them a job at the palace (see the general plot section)
She is dating Tom
Scandalabra/ John Wick is a nymph
Even though John is a regular nymph he disguises himself as an oracle named ‘Scandalabra’ to hear about other people’s lives and problems
He is not found out until MC comes along because almost no one visited him
Skylar another one of the love gods
Possibly encompasses Philia
Shelley is basically Atlas
Poor girl holds up the sky
Stefan could give hestia vibes, god of hearth and family
Mr. Cluckles is his animal representation
Teddy another love god/ chiron adjacent
He represents Agape love
He is a wise and kind mentor to the newer gods
Telly god of storytelling
Timothy/ Timmy are/is the god of the seasons
Makes sure seasons occurs on shhedule
His animal is obvi a cat
Timothy is there during Spring and Summer to ensure life is brought to the world
Timmy is there during the Fall and Winter, not caring for his duties and lets everything Timothy made be killed off in the freezing winter
MC meets them during the changing of the seasons
Tina is an Eris adjacent
Always starting chaos when she is bored
Tried to have a threesome with some of the wind gods and when rejected cursed Fantina and Hector to live a life away from their love
As wind gods they can never get to close or their love will literally be blown away, forced to yearn from a distance
Until MC finds a way to break the curse
Tony is Hephaestus adjacent
Most of his creations were happy accidents but he is still worshipped
Tydus is Atalanta adjacent with a mix of Artemis
A hero who later became a goddess of the hunt started a group (her dipodgenes)
Tyrell is a water nymph
Skips(shadow lord) is Hades adjacent, ruler of the underworld/ god of darkness
Married to Prissy bc we thought they’d be cute together
Zoey is a lost soul in the underworld
MC finds her by the River Lethe without any memories of who she was
MC asks Skips and Prissy if they can bring her back to the overworld to give her another chance at life
How they leave the underworld is kind of Orpheus and Eurydice adjacent
The General Plot:
As established, MC was a regular mortal human, living in Valdivian. Their friend Sam landed them a job in the palace, working as a servant to the tyrant David Most, alongside everyone they are treated awful. This goes noticed by Bobby, who upon seeing their favorite human being treated so terribly does the only thing they know how to and steals some of David’s treasure to give to MC. David notices his stuff missing and MC gets caught in possession of it, MC is sentenced to death for stealing from the King. They run away, Bobby asks Mac for help and Mac sends Tinfoil Hat to help MC escape the kingdom.
MC is cornered by soldiers at a cliff and jumps, presumed dead by everyone, including Sam. Instead they are found by River who takes pity on them and makes sure they don’t drown. After this Bobby, Mac, and Gaia try to find the best place for MC to go when in actuality a ✨prophecy✨ was started. Over the next few years MC encounters the other deities and mythical creatures and romances them. This is where the AU turns into a slice of life, hijinks induced, episodic narrative. @squoonsquoon and I thought of the following scenarios that might happen during this time. We also hc that due to hubris often being found in Greek Mythology the characters can become prideful and more possessive of the human than they are in the game.
Gaia concludes the safest place for MC to go would be on Bodhi’s island as he can provide them with food, shelter and security. The only problem is MC starts Bodhi‘s arc in wanting to escape the island and explore the world. The two eventually do leave and as they sail off they meet Jean Loo and Johnny Splash, MC helps them too in improving their music capabilities.
During this adventure Gaia mentions the (Dorian) Minotaur’s Labyrinth found in the rubbles of an old kingdom could be a safe place, Mac is against it but can’t really argue because there is no confirmation the Minotaur himself is even alive. MC makes their way there and while they do not immediately meet Dorian they can hear him while they make their way through the Labyrinth. He is in the center and can spectate MC, watching as they piece more and more of his story through the specific items found in different rooms. There was a point where the King(Keith) of this place and the Minotaur fell in love, it was a trap however as the King’s plan was to slay the monster and gain fame/notoriety, hoping it was enough to attract the god’s attention. The king failed in killing him and as a backup plan privately commissioned the creation of the Labyrinth and trapped Dorian inside. It ends with MC helping Dorian trusts others again and find a way out, eventually they fall in love too.
At some point after failing to kill the Minotaur Keith finds himself trapped on an island with a god, Bodhi. He lies to the god and drinks his ambrosia behind his back, after being transformed into a god himself he leaves the island and its curse. None of the gods want him around when they see what he did to Bodhi and later find out what he did to Dorian.
At some point MC finds themself in the underworld and Skips+Prissy take a liking to them, trying to convince them to eat pomegranate. Luckily, Abel foresaw this and made sure MC went with a big sack of delicious food cultivated by the titan of agriculture himself. Here MC finds Zoey and is determined to help her find out about her life and death; when it comes time for MC to leave they take Zoey back with them.
When MC meets Phonenicia they ask her to tell Sam they are alive and okay. This whole time Sam was grieving her friend and feeling guilty that she technically contributed to their death. MC starts to regularly send Sam gifts from their new lovers (which are very fancy).
Throughout the whole journey MC receives constant trinkets and blessings from their lovers. What they also don’t know is that they also keep sneaking in drops of ambrosia into their drinks, it is mostly for the healing and strength properties (it's not enough to make them immortal).
Eventually MC goes back to Valdivian because of the ✨prophecy✨and has a showdown with David Most. When it seemed MC was about to receive a life threatening injury they suddenly start to glow and their mortality burns off of them; they become a god. The gods are confused by this until it’s revealed they all had the same idea to sneak drops of ambrosia into MC’s drinks, that ambrosia was basically all they were drinking. (Also Ben-Hwa mentions some godly fluids that were also exchanged played a part too).
The prophecy was that MC was going to become a god and they are actually a Psyche adjacent. They are the god of the soul and their adventure reflects the story of a soul’s journey to immortality. They get the epithet ‘lover of all’. MC reunites with Sam and appoints her as their high priestess, to make sure Sam lives comfortably for the rest of her days.
