probably the only improvement that happened with the whole companions rewriting for dav is that there's no Imshael in team
cuz there's no way bw expect me to NOT just lynch this mf for desecrating an entire dalish clan

If there, someday, is a show set in Thedas/The dragon age setting (though I highly doubt it) I want there to be an elven character that stares into the camera any time there is anti elf racism or a human gets praised and rewarded for unearthing and discovering ancient knowledge while all the elven characters get shunned for it
*Cough cough*
Morrigan getting her eluvian knowledge by stealing from the dalish while treating all elves quite badly (even vocally considering the deal with the tevinter slavers in the alianage) and then getting to go into the well of sorrows, while Merrill who built an eluvian basically from scratch gets called stupid and naive and the token bad boy who is dismissive to other elves, who by the way are heavily based on and inspired by real life indigenous people and their treatment and who can be massacred in nearly every installment in the series including the books, like most other elf companions, which includes a queer woman who will make fun of the player character, their people and culture, as well as says that she's pretty much not like other elves, I won't speak on solas because that would make the post too long, but anyway Fenris can tell her that it would be better if she died instead of Marethari. And then Merrill pretty much gets ignored... Which honestly could be the better outcome with how much the writers hate elves and especially the dalish.
the only game i play exclusively out of spite* is dragon age: inquisition
love to be filled with pro-mage & pro-dalish fury at all times
*gleeful, gleeful spite
Does anyone have any good Cullen/chantry/templar/Solas bashing fics? Sometimes I just want to read about a fantasy asshole experiencing consequences

Pro mage/anders/dalish fics also very welcome
Hello, DA Fandom!
Hi!! I completely forgot to introduce myself to the da fandom!
My name is M, and my main is @wolfcat-hybrid! I figured I reblog too much da stuff to bother tagging it all, so I just... went ahead and made a sideblog, so I wouldn’t bother my non-da followers on my main ^^’
I am pro-Anders, pro-mages (including bloodmagic), and pro-dalish
I am anti-Cullen (FUCK that guy), anti-templar, anti-chantry, anti-circle, and I think Solas is a dumbass bitch who's too stuck up his own ass to see that his plan fucking sucks
Heres a link to a post with info on my warden/hawke/inquisitor!
You do realise it's a widely known fact that Dalish clans vastly differ since Origins. The clan in the Masked Empire were a bunch of wankers, but what about the Sabrae clan who accepted in Pol (a city elf), are willing to trade with humans settlements, and a bunch of other things that clan talk slack about them doing. The elves were immortal (in a sense) that's been confirmed by the Dread Wolf himself! Humans have been acting as the aggressors for as long as they can remember! Which isn't a lot since most of their culturally identity was destroyed by time they were freed from slavery. They are working on fragments, and romanticize the past like everyone does! Look at the real life civilisations have been romanticized for christ's sack! --90.219.216.14 (talk) 21:22, March 7, 2015 (UTC)

I feel I must argue your point, DevethExile. Yes, the ancient elves were the source of their own destruction, as is the case with many great civilizations, especially in Thedas. Just look at the Imperium, the dwarves, and so recently, Ferelden and Orlais. I feel that all elves, Dalish and City elves alike, have every right to blame the humans for the suffering in their lives, because it's the humans who are always kicking them in the face. The Imperium enslaved the elves, robbing them of their culture and language, all while stealing and claiming it as their own. The Chantry demonizes them, called an Exalted March on them, and just like the Imperium before them, outlawed their culture while regulating them to ghettos. And every human kingdom, especially Orlais, likes to make the elves their favorite punching bag. I especially like that little thing where Chevaliers graduate from the Academy by getting drunk and go killing elves in the Alienage as an initiation. Not to mention the City Elf Origin story with that sorry excuse for a human being Vaughn, who was infamous for kidnapping and raping elven women, but nobody seemed to care, and King Cailan, buffoon that he was, never even knew what was happening in his own capital. So, yes, while the elves may have their flaws, and their history isn't as perfect as they wish, that doesn't excuse how the rest of the world has treated them for thousands of years. No people deserves that. You can see the parallels between the elves of Thedas, and the Jews, gypsies, and Native Americans of Earth.--Mabari-Master (talk) 06:39, February 21, 2017 (UTC)

They hate the elves, that is why. As of the ending of DA:I, it pretty much seems to be shaping up as a "screw the elves, they want to mess up the balance of the world" etc etc, and "they were as bad of slave masters as the Imperium". But on an interpersonal basis, the Dalish are understandably very direct, or even hostile with strangers because they have come to know that most humans seem to put little effort into understanding them. And the humans respond in kind because they assume this hostility is not justified and thus a vicious cycle ensues. As for the double standard about how they are treating the religions of the DA world, I am inclined to agree that it seems they are really bashing on, or trying to disprove a lot of the faith held by dwarves and elves, while doing little about human faiths. Keep in mind, though, that nearly all of the spirits from the Fade have made no mention of the Maker when asked, and have no knowledge of when or how they came to be, despite the Chantry's claim that the spirits were "His" first creation. Whether this will change in future installments, I have no idea. But I am fully expecting the deconstruction of the elves and dwarves to continue in earnest. 'Cause, you know, **** the pointy ears.
