people should get divorced more often like not even out of abusive or loveless necessity but just because you got married and grew into different people you couldn’t live with. because marriage in the end wasn’t for you. because you think you’d be better off as friends. get divorced just to be able to call yourself a divorcee. like who gives a shit people get married for stupid reasons all the time let them get divorced for stupid reasons too! PLUS if everyone getting divorced all the time maybe it’ll cheapen the process 🤷🏽

Growing up in the LDS church I always heard negative comments about divorce like "people today just drop each other at the first sign of trouble" and "people selfishly put their own needs before their commitment".

And now that I'm older, I honestly wonder, what's wrong with that?

What's wrong with leaving a relationship that no longer builds you up or betters you? What's wrong being happier alone and choosing your own happiness?

It's a little less black and white, of course - all relationships require give and take and all hit rough patches occasionally. But if a relationship is no longer making you happier than you were single or no longer helping you grow as a person, there's nothing wrong with leaving it. You shouldn't need to sacrifice your own wellbeing just to stay in a legal contract that can be undone.

So yeah, people in my country are fighting about approving divorce. Some are still conservative about it for the country is a hyper catholic one. Some priests stated their opinion.

Some progressive decent people (me including) say that priests aren't allowed to say their opinion for they will never know what's like to be in a marriage.

The church is weaponizing the religion... AGAIN like they always do in every political issues.

The state and the church should not interfer with each other.

Some will say, "I'm Catholic and we say no to divorce." Just stay away, Bigots!

They're overacting as if ever Divorce has been approved, everyone are required and forced to break up their marriages.
