I happened to be re-listening to Ego Renegade Boy because it’s in my main Vocaloid/V-Synth playlist. Despite the fact the song is about the transmasc experience, it really hits home for me and my experiences so far as a biologically-female nonbinary person. Like yeah I killed your “daughter” but I’m a lot happier now that I’ve realized I wasn’t really a daughter in the first place (and that liking feminine clothing styles and appearances doesn’t mean I’m a girl). Also listening to the song from this new perspective has let me truly understand what people are talking about when they’re referring to the trans joy in the song. Like omg I get it now.
These are just my thoughts from re-listening to the song months later. I think it’s beautiful how even though the song was written with transmasculinity in mind, it can resonate with other identities under the trans umbrella. I’ve seen large divides between the trans community, and I wish those that are discriminatory towards other trans identities would realize that we’re a lot more alike than we are different.
I also hope people don’t stop talking about this song because it’s so beautifully written (and also from a Voca-P perspective, the tuning on Rin and Len is IMMACULATE). Flavor Foley never misses.
Anyway reminder that you are loved, valid in your identity, and to take a break if you’ve been online for a while (eat, drink water, shower, etc because I know hygiene can be difficult at times for some people). Also that nonbinary people don’t owe you androgyny.
Okay bye-bye! :3
