I have been saying for yearssss that Elriel and Vassiens story will happen simultaneously and everything we have gotten from BB (if this is all truly hints which it may not be who knows w them at this point)and even the tattoo artist hints has just supported that even more.

I’ve been saying since acosf came out that Lucien will be the one to get his own TOD style book off in the spring court/human lands w Vassa. Acosf set him up exactly for this the way QOS set Chaol up for TOD.

You cannot have Elains story fleshed out with out fleshing out Lucien and dealing with the bond. I have been saying for years I think Elain and Lucien will both reject their bond and choose love over their bond. Lucien w Vassa and Elain w Azriel.(if their bond is in fact real which at this point at least it is)

Ppl seem to forget SJM talked about wanting to write a swan lake retelling and vasalisa the beautiful. Which if you look into the folklore fits Lucien and Vassa to the T.

I’ve been saying since acowar that the moment SJM retconned Lucien’s dad to Helion making him a spell cleaver and then she gave Vassa a unbreakable curse was a major foreshadowing of them ending up together. And every book since has just drove that point home.

I gotta tell yall something… Azriel didn’t need to be the one to ask elain to go to the garden, he didn’t need to be the one who “understood her”, nor did he need to listen to her until and last 3 am when he had smth to do early the next morning, he didn’t need to have ANY of the scenes he did with her.

It just as easily could’ve been a mor, or amren, or the wraith twins or feyre or and this is gonna sound crazy, it could’ve been her MATE. We didn’t need those scenes, and it definitely didn’t need to be azriel. Every single scene between elriel was on purpose.

Him willfully giving her tt? not necessary, him stopping everyone from eating? He just as easily could’ve had that “ trauma response” for a moment with feyre or never had it. Her giving him a gift for the two years she’s known him? Not necessary. She didn’t even give cassian one or Rhys.

Just as easily sjm could’ve not written the disgusting amount of discomfort between elucien. She could’ve written elain giving in some times so atleast we know that she is fighting some inner turmoil. But we don’t.

And every elucien saying she is has absolutely nothing to back it up. The half step? Never discussed again nor can we assume it was romantic because nothing pointed to that. What else? Do they even have ANYTHING from ELAIN? It’s all Lucien and I personally believe all his feelings stem from the mating bond. He would’ve felt nothing for elain if it weren’t for it. Sorry not sorry but Elain isn’t Lucien’s type and that’s okay… and ik ppl are gonna say oh that affects the other bonds cuz the men knew… the difference there is 1) the women wasn’t forced into anything and 2) nature ( per the author) chose right for the other bonds. Also ik some eluciens will also say “ well in the scene where she’s being put into the cauldron he tells them to stop” and babe that’s morals, don’t you all say he’s a kind sweet traumatized fox boy shouldn’t this be the basic reaction of a person who’s top tier? Tamlin even tried to stop them ( I can’t even ask if yall ship them because some actually do) azriel mor cas feyre and Rhys all tried to stop it from happening doesn’t prove much honestly other than his bystander personality saw the consequences and tried horribly to stop.

Lucien blushing and being comfortable around vassa also didn’t need to be said. And I don’t understand the jurien and vassa ship cuz like yall are using one sentence while vassien has more? Jurien and vassa are at each other’s throats so they’re endgame… what else?

Vassa and Lucien have times where it’s said he’d betray his mates court/ family/ safety for her???? And they are just friends?

I always say this but seriously would anyone ship elucien if it weren’t for the bond? Would they be on anyone’s radar if it weren’t for the bond? Ever hilariously enough gwynriel has a scene they can be stupid to say is romantic, but that clearly hasn’t stopped them.

people who say that elriels ship vassien 'to get lucien out of the way so elain and azriel can be together' sound so dumb because lucien IS NOT IN THE WAY! ELAIN WAS READY TO KISS AZRIEL WHILST LUCIEN WAS UPSTAIRS! SHE IS NOT INTERESTED IN HIM! IF HE WAS IN THE WAY, ELAIN WOULD BE HESITANT TO GET WITH AZRIEL BUT SHE IS NOT! BECAUSE SHE HAS NEVER AND WILL NEVER BE INTO HIM!

Spending part of yesterday going through acomaf and acowar to find elriel moments was even more obvious than the first time I read them.

There are SO many moments. SO, SO MANY. I'm sure I missed a couple but I had at least 9 pages front and back.

Elain lets Azriel in. Wants him there. After the change was more obvious than before it. She has zero interest in Lucien and Lucien has such a low interest in Elain. They don't want each other.

Elain's affections are with Azriel while Lucien's are with the mating bond and he doesn't care for the person its to. He acts so obligatory towards Elain it's uncomfortable. She's uncomfortable. They're both so tense around each other and that never goes away.
