You can't even be neutral in the recast debate without antis screaming at you. It's not enough to only purchase legit dolls in their eyes, you have to think and act exactly like them too. Sorry but I'm not going to be some mindless follower just because they think their side is more popular. And I'm not going to be bullied into treating people poorly over a doll.

I'll stop considering recasts as an option when certain companies stop making their entire website sold out because everything was a limited print run. I got into this hobby late, I suppose - there are so many dolls, really unique dolls that aren't like anyone else's - that I will never get because there aren't even any scalpers reselling them at a 1000% markup, I literally can't throw money at anyone BUT the recasters. I want to give people their proper due, but until then, I have recasts.

THIS IS A FUCKING MYTH recasting it's just as hard as legit casting. Unless this girl it's working for a recast company on China chances are even if she does a recast with silicon molds and resin it will be obviously spotted as recast because of bubbles in the resin. Not everyone has a vacuum pressure chamber for removing bubbles in their back yard.

(Not the Admins of this blog business, but this is true. Not everyone can simply recast a doll at home and make it look like a professional work so you won’t be able to tell the recast apart from the legit. Only if this particular person is working for major chinese seller and has the tools at hand; Ironically not all prorecast individuals are only involved whit recasts. For example, Admin O and me have an astonishing amount of legit dolls, %75 percent of our collections (given or taken) it’s made out of legits, yet, we are prorecast. We just don’t like to support abusive bullying or even passive aggressive behaviors inside a hobby we love. Recasters and recast owners are not the devil itself and will con you instantly just because they choose to be prorecast or even experiment for their own enjoyment at home. We are people like anyone else and don’t have the super power to make perfect castings as the ignorance of antirecasters or pro”artists” might indicate.)

An artist myself I absolutely hate the idea of art theft, except that recast aren't that... And as someone who grew up with hardly any money for luxuries, I understand the issues with money and dolls (I'm not going to suggest something as ignorant as getting vinyl dolls, quick ebay search shows how expensive they really are too!) so honestly? seeing both sides of the recast debate? My immediate thought is “dear god antis shut up!” it’s like having a annoying sibling on a really long car journey!

I’m pro-recast and I would love to have a good, mature discussion with an anti-recast person to hear their point of views… unfortunately it seems the lot of them can’t go three minutes without using terms like ‘thief’ and 'stupid’ as if trying to back up their arguments. News flash, y'all: Insulting someone doesn’t make them more likely to listen to you. Thanks.

I'm not a bitch for being extremely pro-artist, nor am I rich for having close to 6 BJDs, a smart doll, an obitsu and a Ye Luoli doll within a two year time frame of being in the hobby. Layaway exists, saving up also exists and if you're a fellow streamer you might also be able to save up that way. Dream of Doll literally shut down thanks to recasts, from what we have heard. We're a mentally ill, autistic Polyfragmented DID system, we have medical bills, a car and college. Yet, we can still afford to buy dolls without stressing out. Recasts do harm artists, imagine buying a doll that takes days to print versus buying a legit doll that takes months to sculpt. It's literal art theft and many BJD companies have made announcements about recasts of their dolls. Can't afford a Fairyland?? Save up, hybrid or buy a cheaper doll if you're impatient. BJD Divas literally offers the longest layaway (up to a fucking year), yeah you heard us! A whole fucking year to pay off your doll. This isn't elitist or classist, we enjoy this hobby and thousands of other people donas well.

We can't even trust BJD owners anymore because some recast owners don't tag their doll as a recast, thankfully we can easily spot on. Stop trying to invade our space, excusing art theft and stop talking shit about how DOA is hell. Den of Angel's has strict rules for a fuclkng reason and no we are not open for a debate as to why recasts aren't harmful.
