i want to draw but i drew about an hour ago and i couldn't even do the lineart because it looked HORRIBLE and the sketch is arguably much prettier but like.. it's a sketch, the faces aren't even detailed enough for you to tell who the characters are

Been thinking about drawing my god ocs and all my little creatures because I get inspired by Pinterest, but in turn when it doesn't look like the stuff from Pinterest i give up

And

I want my ocs to have a fandom but would y'all even care. Could i be consistent enough? I feel like some of you would be confused at my lore. I am afraid

First drafts are the worst. Because you want it to be good to make up for all the time you've spent writing it but it's rarely good and if it is when you first finish it it's sucks a few months later. And then, sometimes you start hating it midway through, and you don't know what's wrong with it just that something is off. And you just want it done so you trash write till the midpoint and if you're extra unlucky you reach this point and give up on it. But like you know first drafts aren't supposed to be good, but by god you want them to be.

(I reached the midpoint of my first draft and this is me trying very hard not to give up.)

It's amazing how you start out the story like "man I love this narrator! I can totally do 300 pages with them" and then at some point you just hate them.

Idk if all of these problems are just a me thing or a ADHD problem. Leave other complaints about first drafts or writing below if you want to.

when people ask you if you’re okay and you know you should tell them that you’re not doing well but you can’t because you don’t want to take advantage of their niceness by making them actually listen to your shit and you know that whatever’s going on with you doesn’t matter to anyone but yourself so really, you’re being selfish, and so you just nod
