So in an impulse purchase, I bought the descent of avernus campaign book and I have a few durge thoughts

1) What if durge spent their time working as an assassin? Running a temple, even one to Bhaal, requires resources that would have to be purchased with some sort of income (lending libraries require money for books/scrolls after all). Not to mention, it provides an excuse for durge to hone their skills. That then opens the door to what if that was how Gortash first meets Durge. They were an assassin he had mutual contacts with. He then made the offer for bhaalspawn gear heist after he realized who he was truly dealing with (maybe seeing the aftermath of a job he paid them for). That would fill in the holes of how he managed to get in contact with the canonically elusive temple of Bhaal. Plus it adds extra context to why he calls them his favorite assassin, because they were originally only another assassin

2) The rumors that bhaal is actually present in the temple could be a misinterpretation of durge’s presence in the temple. They are the literal body of bhaal so that checks

3) Also Orin and Durge apparently should have really fucked up thumbs

I genuinely don't know who would win in the competition for attention/affection from attractive men between Lando and Marc and I've for some reason been thinking about this for several hours

the next chapter we get has nothing to do with Copia it's just the new person that's supposed to be Papa and Tobias never mentions Copia ever again

okay bc i will most likely be in an important meeting when the clip drops i will now use this chance since they are keeping us waiting to drop all the sascha-thoughts i have before they hopefully shed some light on that mystery (if they don't just clown us all with the mention of tuesday and nothing at all happens...)

- i am not completely ruling out the possibility of sascha being family in any way. the name thing doesn't hold up to me. i don't remember how much we know about ismail's family background but there could be a possibility of split parents and one of them having a new partner with a child. or sth similarly patch work

- i still don't really think they are family because of the tone of the voice mail. it really sounded very intimate and soft and not necessarily the way you talk to family even if there is no 'blood relation'

- but nevertheless i don't think it has to be a romantic involvement. there are so many options for intimate loving relationships and i would absolutely adore druck displaying i.e. a queerplatonic relationship that would be absolutely everything. like i would 100% send my best friend a message like that, we call each other baby and stuff all the time and we are 10000% not romantic. would love to see something like that on screen.

- if they choose to make it a romantic (-adjacent) relationship i'd love if it wasn't about getting together or some major drama revolving around it. let them be a couple, or have a fling or a fwb situation and let it be a factor that's just there and in parts of course influenced by the conflict that eventually unfolds but let it not be that conflict or a major part of it.

- i think it's very noteworthy how sascha called the gang 'fancy friends'. it wasn't mean per se but to me it surely had a slightly teasing connotation. is it a coincidence that ismail literally went away from the others when listening to the voice mail? i have the suspicion that they are deliberatley keeping these parts - sascha and the gang - seperated

- sascha knows about the gang but do they know about sascha? i am not so sure. i think we haven't seen enough yet. but i think there is a chance that kieu my knows at least something about it (rude of her not to tell us ngl)

how did she NOT burn her feet on boiling sand??? don't come in with "well, actually fire> hot sand" I KNOW! of course fucking fire is hotter than sand, but boiling sand can legit HURT you. have you ever walked barefoot on the beach anywhere between 10am-5pm? in summer? have you??? now think how much worse walking barefoot in a desert must be. I can't think of a logical explanation, help me
