Lloyd Irving was an idiot.

Book smarts really weren't his thing, Lloyd knew that well thanks to all the Professor's despairing sighs and constant low marks written in red. But he liked to think that he could pick up on when something was bothering a person or when something was really important, so Lloyd knew he had missed something when Zelos, the guy that was always joking around, hit him for laughing.

He'd been joking, but Lloyd belated realized it wasn't because Zelos found it funny - it was one of those moments when you tried to make something into a joke just to hide that you really did care. Lloyd had missed that and stepped right in it, hadn't he? And judging by the smack he'd received, he'd done it big time. "Hey, man... you okay?" He asked, even though he'd been the one to get hit.

How pathetic. For that annoying chosen to see him in this state. If he could pull out a witty retort, he might have. Sadly the blood bubbling from his lungs and into his mouth didn't allow him for the chance. All he could do was stare at the chosen in an unfocused manner. His arms laid limply at his side and his body against a tree coloured with his own blood. His body felt heavy and almost empty in a way. He couldn't believe he was going to die in this manner. If things didn't work out, he'd die by blood loss at this point. He didn't think Zelos was all that inclined to help him at all. There wasn't anything anyone could do.Though there laid the bodies of countless men before him, all done by his own hands. At least he could rest in peace knowing he had done everything to protect his companion's treasure. The treasure of the world and the hope of everyone who lived on it.“ That...it is...” He manged to muster out of his mouth. Cold, and raspy. A smirk came to his face as he pulled his arm out, his palm beckoning for Zelos.“ Then...end it...here. ”
