🔴    I'm so tired with people who act like sex is evil and refusing to write any nsfw is better for ace people. It is so patronizing.

🔴    Asexuality, like many things, is a spectrum, and also not every ace person is sex repulsed. We occasionally struggle with it, but that is our problem, it doesn't mean other people need to stop being sexual or kinky.

🔴    Stop invoking asexual people as a shield for your hatred of kinks, fetishes, and nsfw works!! Lack of sexual attraction DOESN'T MEAN that you cannot write and draw and create sexy media!

🔴    Honestly it would be like claiming that a gay man could never write about a straight couple. That is a ridiculous logic to follow, blatantly untrue, and it causes you to dehumanize people into stick on labels, rather than complex individuals.

🔴    If you are saying "we should raise the age of consent to 25" but then say "but only for sex" how would you be able to enforce this without automatically getting queer people criminalized? If we recall correctly, raising the AOC is a right leaning talking point, because it means parents have more control for longer.

🔴    Queer people are already demonized just for existing, our sex lives already used for fear mongering, and raising the AOC would actually make that much, much worse for us, as well as other factors.

🔴    You do not have to consent to anything you do not want to, even past 16, 18 or 21. But not everyone feels like you do. Some people feel like they aren't ready to be adults at 18, others feel incredibly ready, depending on circumstance.

🔴    You are never expected to have to like everything. Liking to eat should never mean you have to like every kind of food there is, correct?

🔴    If you are worried that being profic means you have to engage in and enjoy every type of fiction out there, it just isn't the case. I promise.

🔴    Sex, fetishes, kinks and the like are not evil, they're not bad, immoral things. Having desires does not make you less than others, and if people you hang around repeat things like this, they're hurting you and themselves. Yes, even ace people. Don't confuse having a lack of sexual attraction as being unable to be kinky.

🔴    Remember, it's always about how you treat real people, and consent is always important. If two adults consent to something kinky, it's their business. It's also fine.

🔴    It's also normal for teenagers to be curious, to explore. Providing them with sex education is vitally important. If you take it away and shame them, they aren't going to stop being curious... They'll just be curious where you can't see it.

🔴    For those uncertain as to why censorship is such a bad thing and aren't convinced by the many good arguments against it, might I suggest looking into the Prohibition Act in the United States from 1920 to 1933?

🔴    You can read all about it on Wikipedia, but the short of it was that alcoholic beverages were banned, made illegal. This isn't mean that they disappeared, however... they were just driven underground, making it much more difficult to track them and made it easier for people to decide their own prices. Of course, getting caught was quite dangerous too, especially more so for minorities. This was also something driven by "morals", which meant to hell with anyone who disagreed. Religious wine was still permitted, however, which is very funny to us, in a dark sort of way.

🔴    It should be known that no one really knows if Prohibition actually helped in any meaningful way, which is probably not the result you want to hear.

🔴    If you think censorship is something that would eliminate the things you claim to be as dangerous, it wouldn't. It would make them harder to track, and it would also make it easier for actually dangerous people to slip under the radar.

🔴    Instead, it is better to educate others how to block, mute, blacklist tags. When you advocate for a position of mass authority to do it for you, then you will lose things you didn't want to as well. Laws are blunt objects that do not concern themselves with finer details. Teach people how to curate their own experiences without trying to control everyone else.

🔴    This one is a bit... erm, difficult to explain? It's more like another word for being profic or proship, from what I've researched, but stands for complicated ships. As in, ones more likely to contain "taboo" topics. It's a "all toads are frogs but not all frogs are toads" situation! Comshippers are more likely to ship those taboo things, whereas proshippers support their right to do so, but not all may ship those things themselves.

🔴    So, yes, it's one of those redundant terms, but then again, we use the term profic which basically means proship, so who are we to judge?

    We're also accepting corrections and such from other profic aligned people!

🔴    The endless frustration of knowing we are fighting not just for our own ability to write dark fiction, but also for antis' right to write dark fiction. They would sooner take away their own ability to write it through censorship and not understand what they've done.
