Ruby whistled as Davrin and Taash sparred, Taash pinning him to the ground.
"Come on Davrin! I thought you were stronger than that!" She taunted. He grunted, attempting to wriggle out of Taash's grip.
"I'm strong enough to handle you!" He called and she felt herself blush slightly.
"Only when you're lucky!" She shouted back. He laughed and Taash growled.
"Focus," they snapped and Davrin's laugher faded.
"I yield," Davrin sighed. Taash grinned and climbed off as Davrin sauntered over towards Ruby.
"What was that you were saying?" He purred, leaning close.
"Nothing," She smiled, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. "I just thought you were a monster hunter. All big and strong."
"You know I am," he raised an eyebrow. "So stop pretending like I'm not."
She just giggled, kissing his cheek. "Maybe you'll have to remind me later."
Davrin grabbed her waist and pulled her close, kissing her deeply. "Gladly."

“But… we said casual. No stakes. No feelings.” Myki looks confused, a little betrayed. Nini can feel a sharp pain in her chest. She almost can’t tell if it’s physical or emotional.
“Yeah,” Nini swallows past the lump in her throat. “But it just… you…”
Myki sighs. “Nini…”
“But unfortunately I’m in love with you. So I can’t do casual anymore. We can’t do this,” she gestures between them, “anymore.”
“Oh,” Myki punches out. She swipes a hand over her face; Nini has to look away, not willing to watch whatever emotions are playing out in front of her. “Oh. I—”
“Myki, please.” She’s still not looking at her. She won’t look at her. “Don’t. Just… don’t.”
A sigh. Myki’s hand moving back into her lap. “Okay.”
And neither of them move.
Until the sun sets on them, they sit in silence on a park bench, and neither of them move.
