Prostate Cancer on the Rise

Thanks to Carla for sending this… Time to smile before the new week commences.
Yesterday I had an appointment to see the urologist for a prostate exam. Of course I was a bit on edge because all my friends have either gone under the knife or had those pellets implanted.
The waiting room was filled with patients. As I approached the receptionist’s desk, I noticed that she was a large, unfriendly wo…

Poor show on Marvel, with their prostate awareness covers
It looks like a money grab with no real effort put into the issue at hand.
Things That Meet the Eye
Many artists will tell you, "I see things differently" and this is very true. As an artist you will find that you notice the fine details of things. Of course it may be slightly annoying for those in your life but over time they learn to deal with it.
Being a graphic design student has allowed me to see things much differently. I have always been that way but now my point view has heightened. I can't make simple trips to the store without noticing the details of say a cookie package. In seconds my eyes have absorbed the type, colors, design, placement, visual hierarchy, and what works or shouldn't be there. I especially love seeing advertisements. Something about how companies chose to build their brands that really intrigues me. Target has always pleased me with their advertisements. You know right away before the bull eye logo appears that Target is behind this.
Today I came across their "Your 'stache mo' better" campaign. I realize this campaign is targeting towards men but I was very taken by the whole layout. I think the video demonstrations were genius!

Learn more about Movember and Prostate awareness
They have tackled a few things with this campaign:
1. They are helping to promote prostate awareness (you won't gather that right away unless you are aware of Movember).
2. They tackle trending ways for men to style their facial hairs and top it off by giving a glimpse of what type of clothing suite each look.
3. The campaign is a win-win for Procter & Gamble as well as Target as they produce the products from the campaign.
There are many other elements to this campaign that I'll let you figure out. My point is as an artist you notice things differently in your day-to-day life be sure to appreciate the little things and always carry a notebook or something to record your ideas.
