SOPA/PIPA are still a threat
There was news earlier about SOPA being "shelved" by Congress, which is usually a way to kill a bill. But it seems Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas is still hoping to keep it alive. Send a letter, email, tweet or pick up the phone and call both your Congressperson and Senator. SOPA is a censorship bill, plain and simple. To paraphrase a dead white dude, someone who gives up liberty for some security deserves neither.
Some parts of a 200 year old document may not be as applicable as they once were, but free speech will never become obsolete. So make your voice heard. Have a happy blackout day.
