Logan would always love to stare at the stars. When kid, he even used to have neck pains, since he was always looking up, and up, and up. Wondering about possible life, who made the stars so beautiful, who named them all.
When the mindscape was only him and Patton, they would stare together at the stars, laying in the figurative backyard of Thomas’ mind. Things change though, and Logan suddenly became more serious and he knew that aliens weren’t real, he knew who discovered the stars and the names, he became really methodical.
Suddenly Logic and Morality, how now they were referred, couldn’t talk as they used to. Morality-He felt that Logic hate him, so he retreated, because it was the right thing to do. But in reality he missed more than anything in this world when they lay on the grass stargazing until they fall asleep.
Logic, on other hand, thought that his job wasn’t to be had or to imagine but to know it. So, he thought that logically that will hurt Morality, so he stopped talking and being more serious because that was his job. Oh, but how much he missed those days were day lay in the grass and try to find different shapes to the stars.
Yeah, those were Logic and Morality.
Then Thomas noticed them, and he repeated constantly that they were more and that was the moment the names entered, because they could be more.
Logan only believed that when Anxi-Virgil, his name is Virgil, tried to disappeared and then, he proved that when he decided to leave, even though he couldn’t, because he wasn’t involved with the feelings.
But not being involved with them doesn’t mean he couldn’t have them, right?
So he ended up knocking at Mo-Patton’s door, holding his favorite astronomy book and hoping he open…
“Hey, teach,” He smiled and Logan could swear he felt even better about it, but refrained to say anything, “What bring ya here?”
“I uhm…” He showed the book, hoping Patton would remember, and for the smile on his face, he probably did. “Are you interested in knowing-?”
“Yeah, sure, let’s just.” He stepped outside, “Lets go to the commons, I don’t want my room affecting you.”
Patton missed that, more than he could even admitted. When Logan was excited his eyes would sparkled and his hands would fidget with something, that right now were Patton’s own hand. Logan was playing with fingers while rambling about Nebulas, and how they formed. Patton couldn’t understand all the technical words, but he understands just enough.
Suddenly Logan stopped talking altogether, and Patton looked at him confused.
“Pat…” He breathed softly and Logan hated the fact that all of a sudden, he wanted to cry, “I missed you.”
Patton for a moment thought it was better to play dumb, to say that he never left and that they’ve been together probably all day but as soon as he opened his mouth he couldn’t. He opened, he closed it. “Me too. I miss this.” He tried to smile and Logan gave a shaky breath.
“W-Would it be okay if you want to study the stars with me?”
“Yeah-I would like that.” And he smiled, feeling his eyes watered a little.
Logan knew a lot about stars, and nebulas and planets and they were beautiful, for lack of a better word.
But the way Patton’s eyes shine when Logan tried to make a joke the next day and the way Patton would laugh and the sensation of Patton’s hand intertwined with his own…
