The last time Doctor Who was on hiatus...
Remember the year-long gap between The Husbands of River Song and The Return of Doctor Mysterio? That was the longest hiatus in Nu Who between two new eras until now, broken only by the introduction to Bill Potts, "Friend from the Future", as broadcast in March 2016.
This scene ended with the Doctor's last lines being "We need to go back... To the future. 2017 needs us!" before a Dalek declares "Humanoid detected!"
Whovians were then sated come November 2016 with this official Doctor Who/Wizarding World crossover for BBC TV charitython Children in Need.
A month later saw the Mysterio episode land on our screens.
Just a fun hiatus comparison to compare with The Reality War and The End of the War via The War Between :) Whatever comes next will be a new era, like 12/Bill was a reboot of sorts following the rather long Clara era.
