With @calebshomo coming out about his truth recently I felt it’s important to reflect on the vulnerability of this song.

Let’s get into “Free” by Beartooth.

Caleb and @beartoothband have skyrocketed, becoming such a gem in the metal community! Breaking boundaries, being open about mental health struggles, giving fans a place to be themselves—this is what makes Beartooth one of the most beloved bands in the scene.

“Free” in my own words is a love letter anthem of self-acceptance, embracing and stepping into a version of yourself that has been dormant, finally breaking through the cracks to reveal authenticity at its finest. This song is a beacon of hope for anyone struggling whether it be mental health, substance abuse, addiction, or sexual identity. Caleb has always been open about his mental health which that in itself is honorable and has made fans, such as myself, feel less alone on our walk of life.

Caleb, thank you for being YOU. We wouldn’t want any other Caleb—you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. Your true fans will stand by you. 💕
