proudtobepan replied to your post “I really wanna meet people, who are xenogender like me. Could you...”
Can someone explain xenogender to me? I have googled it but what I found is confusing me.
Xenogender: A nonbinary gender identity that cannot be contained by human understandings of gender; more concerned with crafting other methods of gender categorization and hierarchy such as those relating to animals, plants, or other creatures/things. It’s mainly an umbrella term for genders with themes such as nouns, archetypes, synesthetic experiences, neurodivergences.
Most terminology regarding gender is extremely limited; feminine, masculine, neutral, androgynous, male, female, genderless, not [one or more of those things], a mix of [one or more of those things].
Many nonbinary/genderqueer people struggle with defining their genders, since they don’t want to define themselves just as not something. Which leads to them creating terminology that relates their gender experiences to things that aren’t commonly associated with gender experiences at all. Synesthesia may influence those descriptions too.
Some examples of xenogenders:
Videogender: “ A gender that feels too robotic/technological to be classified by human standards. “
Spesgender: “ A gender defined by hope. Could be a gender you hope to become/find inside of you. Alternately, it could be a gender that encapsulates all that you want to be or represent. “
Skygender: “ A feeling of gender that varies in clarity. One day it may be clear and easy to read and process, but then it may cloud over and become confusing. “
Rockgender or Hardcoregender: “ A gender that feels really loud and aggressive. “
Puzzlegender: “A gender that feels pieced together, or still needs to be pieced together by the wearer to uncover the full picture. “
Abimegender: “A gender identity which is profound, deep, and infinite. Can be used by itself, or as a prefix to describe another gender (abimegirl, abimeagender, etc). From "Old French - related to 'abyss'; from Latin a- 'without' byssos 'bottom'. “
Genderflora: “ A gender that blooms and evolves based on weather and atmosphere; similar to genderfluid but feels more connected to flora. “
Energender: “ A gender that seems to be like a ball of energy, shifting and moving rapidly and not being able to be quite pinned down, though its basic components are somewhat known, such as being partially female, partially male, partially anything really, but there being more core genders that are harder to pin down. Can be combined with relevant genders. “
Blizzgender: “ A gender that feels cold, snowy, and harsh. See also: Frostgender, Freezegender, Wintergender. “
A xenogender person does not identify as such because they are ignorant and think something they like or their personality is the same thing as their gender. Or just because they think it would be cool to identify as a puzzle or a flower. They identify as such because they want to explain their unconventional identity and the only way they can do so is relating it to feelings, objects, forces of nature and so on.
